Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus aroma with some hints of pine. Sweetish malty hoppy citrus flavor with hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty hoppy finish. omhper (24973) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - APR 21, 2008
UPDATED: APR 28, 2008 Bottled. Somewhere between pale amber and deep golden, small head. Light citric hoppy nose. Dry and light bodied with fragile malt character half covered in a thin blanket of grapefruity hops. Crisp and drinkable, but just too careful and painted in too thin layers of flavour. Draught at Yellow Ape Craft, Osaka. Clear yellow - amber - white head. Grassy. Citrus. Toasted. Fruity. Light peppery. Light malty. Old hoppy notes. Light dusty. KyotoLefty (10207) - Kyoto, JAPAN - NOV 27, 2008
This was the 2008 "Fresh hop" version with aroma hops that they grew themselves added. Bottle from Yamaoka.
Dark copper with almost no head.
Fruity, very hoppy aroma with lots of citrus, some pepper, caramel. Fruity, very hoppy flavor. Caramel in the back ground. Much more hop aroma than the regular version, and on the whole, that much nicer. A good PA made better.

My Bottom Line:
larsga (7509) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 6, 2007
The spicy, leafy hoppiness of this Pale Ale lingers pleasantly, as maltiness provides a playful body but scant flavoring. The citrusy, lemongrassy background also supplies an interesting flavor display, and a satisfying moment is spent.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the pale blond.
-Overall, it is very drinkable, but lacks some malty substance to really be engaging.
-Hops also show floral notes.
-Bubbles are quite small, but far from fierce.
Medium offwhite head. Hazy orange body. Deep firm caramelly malty aroma with notes of straw and hops. Dry medicinal straw and hops malt taste with light mango hop notes. Caramelly. Dry medicinal aftertaste. Very nice! Definitely US-inspired. (0.33l bottle from the bus station in Matsumoto.) KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 7, 2007
0,33 l bottle.
Slightly hazy amber ale. Aroma of American hops. Rather light malty body, but the hoppy flavour has a nice piney dryness. TimE (5793) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JUL 14, 2007
Not to be confused with their DPA (Draft Pale Ale, which surprisingly is only avialable on draft). Light amber color, pineapples, citrusy hoppy nose. Med hoppy citrusy mouth with some noticable noble hops as well. Mildly bitter finish. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 1, 2015
On tap at Beer Komachi, Kyoto. Cloudy amber, creamy head. Fruity hop nose followed by mild fruit, toffee and hoppiness. Decent. shoulderbroken (4255) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAR 3, 2013
Tap at Popeye. Clear light amber colour, little head. Aroma is lightly hoppy, bit of grain. Taste is nicely bitter, light citrus hints, slightly spicy maltiness. Very easy drinking. Solid.
