visionthing (5237) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 7, 2016
33cl bottle from Midori, Nagano. Pours close to black with a modest pale beige head. Mild, but pleasant aroma of roasted malt with some fruity notes, chocolate and hints of wood. Moderate to medium sweet with a balanced bitterness. Medium body with a fairly average carbonation. Decent, easy-to-drink porter.

Dredd (904) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - JAN 20, 2016
Dark ruby brown pour with thin tan head. Aroma of coffee and cocoa. Flavour is more of the same, roasted coffee and chocolate with a mild bitter finish which is reasonably long.

biirusaikou (2704) - - JAN 8, 2016
Draught at TBE. Rich dark malt, quite creamy, cocoa and piney hops, gentle coffee finish. Solid stuff, surprised I didnt tick it before but I guess the style kind of bores me these days.

jc1762 (1306) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 29, 2015
Poured into a teku showing a slightly translucent center with coffee brown translucent rims and barely any foam around the edges. The nose shows somewhat sweet Belgian yeast-like notes with a balanced heft of roasted malts. The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated. First impressions shows a strong roasted malted bitterness with a light Belgian yeastiness in the background. The flavors slowly change to an adzuki bean-like sweetness that is slight and not overboard. Finish returns back to the roasted malts and a bitterness of the same. Not terribly fun.
