Bottle care of Tim Maloney. Clear amber with a white head. Nose is very grainy, barley malt and chaff, slight grassy, honey. Very much golden ale like. Taste is grainy malt, barley chaff, honey.

Bottle from Craft Beer Base. L: pours a cloudy brownish gold with little head. S: surprisingly floral and pine hop, more like a pale ale. T: light body with a nice amount of pine hop on the end, some nice citrus fruits, back with a subtle wheat. F: easy to drink, quite aqueous on the palate, mild bitter hop lingering. O: decent sessionable ale, hope to see it on tap this summer.

Okay soooooo it is NOT a wheat... but something else...like a Thai "chick" you pick up... WHO cares WHAT it really is...it pleases! Surprising, refreshing, hoppy and smooth. Not classified as a pale or IPA, but actually beats most other Japanese attemps in those categories....confusingly. Good SHIT!

Wombata (627) - Kobe, JAPAN - JUL 11, 2015
Bottle from CCB. Aroma: Soft, fragrant white peach plus peach blossoms, ripe grapefruit, and light hoppy pine all in balanced proportions. Flavor: Peach, grapefruit, moderately bitter pine on the mid-palate, finishing with a lasting bitterness on the mid-front part of the tongue. Comment: Another well-made ale from Shiga Kogen.

shoulderbroken (4256) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JUL 6, 2015
Bottle at Shinshu Sake Mura. Low carbonation but enough to keep the feel interesting. Aroma is not so strong, but fruit dominated. Maybe this is a bit cold. Taste is more hoppy than wheaty. Quite surprised. Grassy, citrus, orange, light tropical stuff. malt pokes through. Caramel increases as it warms. Pretty refreshing. Nice.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Nice clear light golden color with a almost no head. Aromas of orange and grapefruit are fairly strong. Slightly watery mouthfeel with a medium to light body. Soft carbonation. Taste is all citrus with orange really standing out. Very refreshing on a summer day. Nice bitterness with a dry finish.

Looks like this one is back out of retirement. On tap at Beer Komachi. An opaque golden pour with a fruity hop nose, very American Wheat like. Medium bodied with a raspy carbonation. The tasty has a prickly earthy bitterness & a fruity character to it. Not really wheaty but a tasty beer.

Strong citrus flavour. Smell so good when you open the bottle. The hop taste comes onto your tongue without much bitterness, but surely is the accent. Highly recommended to young ladies who are not fond of beer because of it.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2012 Draught at TOWERS. It is not wheat flavor all over. demure bitterness and aroma. not so bad, but something short of taste.

Bottle. Pours a hazy pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity wheat malty hoppy citrus aroma with some very weak hints of bananas. Sweetish wheat malty hoppy citrus grapefruit flavor. Has a wheat malty hoppy finish.
