Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of roast, dark fruit, tart fruit, some slight caramel, cocoa powder, slight earthy notes. Taste was a mix of tart apple, some slight cocoa, roast, hints of caramel, into some spicy notes, slight dark coffee, finishing roasted. Sledutah (7978) - Utah, USA - OCT 6, 2014

(On tap at Shine as "Siva Imperial Stout"...I think it used to be "Sanitas" before a brewery with the same name opened in the same town, so I’ll leave my "Siva Stout" rating here for now until it becomes clear).....Dark black pour under a thin light khaki head. Big nose of chocolaty roast and earthy black malt sweetness. The flavor features the same with just a kiss of coffee. It’s malty without being syrupy or tasting too big (in fact it tastes dangerously below 9.2--I’ve had 6 percenters that have tasted boozier), but also lacks complexity. Neither the chocolate, coffee or roastiness plays a dominant role, I just get dark black malty sweetness. It’s not too heavy, which is good, but it’s just not too flavorful. 3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 9, 2013
Draft. Plum and cranberry skin and chocolate and roast featured heavily in the nose. There’s some black patent inkiness with some lighter herbal / spice / pepper accents. Unfortunately the husky malts come across as burnt sugar and burnt popcorn. Sweet, chewy black malt syruiness with chalky and pasty yeast and a watery and flabby body. Medium-high bitterness, lightly acidic, very sweet. Mostly minor flaws like some sour burnt grains and astringent campfire wood with a lengthy cloying black malt finish. Meh. When warmer and having breathed there’s some more hair spray / chemical notes and the plum and cranberry fruitiness seems more like a mass of overripe, almost-rotting dark / red fruits. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 8, 2013

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2012 Tap @ Shine. Black appearance with a dark brown head. Somewhat fruity, green apple (another infection?), roasty, burnt malty aroma. Tangy, pear, honey, apple, roasty malty, chocolate flavor. Either this is also infected or just sucks balls. (1.9)<br<
This time didn’t have the issues that I had last time and it was overall a pretty nice, roasty stout. Not bad.
