Simple things aren’t necessarily easy. In fact, when it comes to brewing, it’s tough to brew great beer with just a few ingredients. But fear not, at the little brewery in SHiner we know a thing or two about refining even the most challenging of old-world recipes. This Czech-style Pilsner is brewed with barley, hops, water, yeast and 101 years of brewing experience. Here’s to sticking to your roots and keeping things simple, PROSIT!

FOAMer (45) - Bartlesville, Oklahoma, USA - FEB 16, 2010
Bready notes with a spicy almost peppery hop character that stands out. Malt notes kind of take on a corn like character. No noticable diacetyl in the aroma or in the flavor. Off white head that laces as the beer goes down the glass. Deep golden color 7-8 SRM that is crystal clear. Bready flavor that again takes on a light corn like flavor they say all malt so I am assuming DMS. Crisp dryness with the spicy hop bitterness, pepper notes are light but noticable. Carbonation is a little high and adds to the crisp character. I would like to see a little more body for a Bo Pils for this beer, but I would not turn one down if offered.

oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 13, 2016
Pours a nice hazy golden yellow. Aromas of malts, hops, and grass. Crisp hop bitterness and dry finish.

JPDIPSO (6262) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 13, 2016
Golden color with a modest off-white head. Mildly salty smelling pale malt and just a hint of herbal hops. Grainy to malty in flavor. Rather bitter in the middle, but more in the line of grassy to sharp herbal tone noted. Not crisp clean noble hops, at least in my most humble opinion. Just a sharp lager in my book. 3/10

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

PorterPounder (8226) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUL 18, 2015
Tallahassee, Fl. ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton. Slight murkiness to the medium golden pour, thin snow white head. Wort-like aroma, with some grainy notes. Bready flavor with some yeasty notes, a touch of honey sweetness, a touch of spent grain. Clean even mouthfeel. Good example of the style.

czar (9334) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 12, 2015
pours almost clear bright gold with a small creamy white cap, some retention and lacing. biscuity and dusty pale maltiness - pils indeed; woodsy and grassy, faint fruitiness - dusty white grapes, spicy honey, clean yeast, iron traces. light carbonation, light body - slightly watery, dry but a bit bland woodsy-spicy-herbal finish. more than decent macro pils anyhow.

LowBrau (140) - Tonawanda, New York, USA - APR 23, 2015
Rich gold color with a thin white head. Medium sweet, medium sour, medium bitter. Biscuity and somewhat metallic.

CousinBrenden (131) - St Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 21, 2015
Poured light orange and perfectly clear. Some banana and spice. More just a light lager with some of the malt and fermentation character of a Czech Pilsner.

slowrunner77 (12581) - Reno, Nevada, USA - MAR 25, 2015
a little too sweet, malty and prickly for my tastes. I do like the slight grassy hop bite in this beer. otherwise it would be crap.

badhack (564) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAR 12, 2015
Golden red, clear, low carbonation, thick head. Aroma that is slightly peppery, herbal, sweet grass. Mouthfeel is moderate, dry, somewhat sticky, grainy. Tastes a bit sweet, clean, toast, malt, breadcrust. German hops. Quite good.

KajII (800) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - MAR 7, 2015
Pours a clear medium brownish amber with a white fizzy head and has hints of grain malts, herbal hops, a touch of an adjunct and a moderte wet cardboard odor. This is a somewhat malty, grainy brew with a light bitter finish. Its smooth and easy drinkability, refreshing aftertaste and low ABV would make it a great lawn mowing brew... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews
