Very pale, clear golden with a good size white head that quickly fades. Aroma of wheat, some other sweet pale malts, banana and a little spice. Taste is sugary sweet, wheaty and a bit chemical. Body is light-medium with fairly soft carbonation. Really unimpressive, but not terrible. nick76 (4403) - Tampa, Florida, USA - FEB 13, 2011
The aroma is a balance of malt and hops with a grass/herbal type of hops and a touch of wheat. The appearance is golden and clear with a foamy head. The taste is pleasant and clean with a more citrus taste than was expected form the aroma but nothing special. The palate is typical for the style. Overall a fairly forgettable ale. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the wheat but there is also some sweet, sugary malt mixed in. The flavor is more of the same. The wheat and sugary malt go well together, but there is not much else going on. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not a very exciting beer and not as good as some of the past anniversary beers from Shiner. mmmbeer (1433) - Austin, Texas, USA - FEB 6, 2011
12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a transparent yellow with the ever so slightest amount of orange color, medium carbonation, half finger white bubbly head formed and tried to lace. Aroma of wheat and hard water. Hits the mouth with a light body, malt was very slightly sweetened, wheat is apparent, middle hoids up well, finish is lingering with some sweetness in the background. Works for me... GO PACK GO!!! ttutony (952) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 4, 2011
Crystal clear golden color in the glass. Strong malty aroma, with notes of cereal grains and grass. Medium-full body with a touch of caramel sweetness.

Bottle. Pours with a very light golden color with a white head. Aroma of citrus, wheat, a bit of spiciness, rye, and sewage. Very sweet, stale, bready, cardboard maltiness. Lively bubbles. Lingering citrus. Somewhat dry. Bad malt character on a malt forward beer. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - FEB 3, 2011
Bottle from the Kroger on Lamar. Golden pour with a huge white head that disappears almost immediately. Aroma is sweet and malty with a little citrus. Taste is wheat, a little bitterness, floral, and slick. Maybe with this Shiner will start making halfway decent beer again? God, I hope so. wxman (1865) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - FEB 3, 2011
Pours a bright golden color with a very slight haze and a decent white head, but far short of what you’d expect from a wheat. Not much of a wheat bouquet, aroma is sweet malt and hop spice. Thirstquenching, smooth, but not very flavorful. Sweet malt and very minor hop bitterness dominate along with a slight wheat germ nuttiness, but none of the flavor characteristics typical of a weizen like banana and clove. Good, but far from memorable. Finhead (1849) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JAN 30, 2011
A clear, light golden pour with white head. The aroma is pretty much all wheat. The light to medium body has a mildly sweet, malty taste with lively carbonation that leads to a clean finish. Not a bad session beer. mar (5457) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 30, 2011
Crisp gold pour with a thin white head that disappears fast. Nose is german hops, followed by wheat, along with spent grains. Thin palate, flavor is heavy on the grain with light florals, and wheat in the end.
