This beer rocks. Almost as good as the Shiner Kosmos. I used to buy this about two times a week at the convenience store across my place. Lame they no longer sell it. jerseyjohn71 (309) - Corsicana, Texas, USA - DEC 28, 2012

Easily the best beer these guys have ever made. I liuken it to a milder Abbey de Leffe Blonde. Loads of malt and smooth on the tongue. It’s easy to discount anything Shiner does, but I would hope that folks can be objective with this one. SSSteve (4006) - - FEB 27, 2011
12oz bottle. aroma is moderately sweet with aroma and marshmallow. clear gold with small white head. creamy palate with medium light body. flavor is vanilla mostly. a lot like cream soda. fantasitic creamy wheat ale! radical. taphandle (1135) - Texas, USA - APR 29, 2011
Clear, medium yellow, really thick head with lots of carbonation. Taste has some dark grassy notes but mixed with hints of fruit. The taste has a touch of wheat beer flavor but there’s a bit of sweetness along for the ride. Shiner mostly has middle of the road brews, but this one stands out as pretty good.

I really enjoy wheat beer so this was right up my ally. Nice wheat character and not overbearing with the abv as some doubles can be (this one clocks in at just over 6%) Light enough to be a session brew but still maintains some nice flavor. Definitely worth a try. GreatDane1632 (1169) - North Dakota, USA - JUL 3, 2015
Rated based on notes taken 23 June 2012 -- Damn good Shiner beer. Took me a year to finally find and try this brew. unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - FEB 28, 2011
12oz twist off bottle, 102 cap. Clear yellow, tall white head. decent lace. Aroma of wheat malts and saaz hops. Hints of lemongrass. Flavor is all wheat. Nice wheat malt, straw, and earthy hops. Easy to enjoy and very thirst-quenching.
So smooth easy to drink. I’m not sure where the Double the Wheat come from but Shiner needs to Double up on everything from now on, after judging this brew.

The beer pours as explained - straw yellow in color, it has a huge frothy head on top, really nice head. The aroma is light sweetness, pure. The flavor is smooth, a big dose of sweet wheat flavors that hit my palate nicely, on a lighter body than expected. It finishes easy with soft wheat sweet notes settling. johnmeier1 (13) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 8, 2011
This beer doesn’t do either job well as either a wheat or a "dubble" so not a fav.
