I was really surprised by this beer. I truly expected a cheaply made beer that had bad coffee with weak flavors. It isnt that, for a bigger brewery, this is a phenomenally crafted beer. Im really impressed by the way the cold brew interacts with the ale. Its a good beer. Impressed

Bottle. Almost black body with some garnet at the edges. A light tan head. Nose of medium roast coffee and some grass. Flavors of medium roast coffee are mixed with some hints of walnuts. There is also some bread crust. The body is highly carbonated to the point of being nearly undrinkable. Its ok.

Poured from a bottle. Excited to try a coffee ale with such a low calorie count (and the carbs arent bad). Short lived sudsy head, not much lacing but still creamy. Nutty aroma, good coffee taste, flavorful, and just a slight aftertaste. For the calories, quite a drinkable beer!

Pours clear mahogany with a thin pale buff head that says hello and then splits. Aroma offers quality coffee, roast malt, and - hmmm, is that grassy, or green coffee bean, or mild pepper? Flavor brings out the best of the aroma, quality coffee and roast malt with hints of horehound and vegetable. Mouthfeel presents good body if not much fizz. Happy 108th birthday, Shiner - now youve outlasted the Chicago Cubs infamous World Series drought!

Light brown color. Off white head quickly disappeared. Aroma is equal parts musty generic malt and coffee. Feel is average. Flavor (6.5) is light coffee...sweet. Nicer than the nose (4.5)

No mistaking that this is a coffee-infused beer as thats the dominating aroma that comes forward from the worlds quickest disappearing head. Full, sweet body that lacks any coffee bitterness and a finish thats, well, more coffee. Very nice.

On tap at Cedar Creek. Pours a hazy copper with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is cocoa, bready malt, roast. Medium body, dark chocolate, spice, roast, bitter finish, decent.

12 oz bottle- Pours clear dark brown with a medium tan head that reduces quickly. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, not much more. The taste is coffee, roasted malts, a bit of dark berry, nutty. Common with Shiner beers, its too thin and simple. Easy drinker i suppose, was let down still.

Clear mahogany-brown color with a medium beige head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Roasted coffee, malt and chocolate. Light-bodied with a roasty coffee and malt flavor, and a slight nutty and chocolatey character in the background. The finish is coffee and mild chocolate. Decent overall.
