Pours an amber/orange and clear with a thin white head. Fairly carbonated. Pretty. Smells kinda weak. Sweet and Malty. No Hops. Feels a little thin and light. Nicely carbonated. Tasts malty up front with a decent hoppiness on the finish. There is a little bit of a nasty adjunct aftertaste. Fairly easy to drink except for the adjunct aftertaste.
I have had about 5 Shiner products at this is probably the best, but for me that’s not saying alot. I was even born and bred in Texas, but I just don’t like Shiner products that much. Out here they love Shiner. I think that they run it through the pipes in some cities instead of water! Anyway, I would choose ths one over thier "Bock" any day.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, deep golden colour. Small off-white head. Malty aroma with a tart off-note. Honey? Flavour is malty and sweetish with slight notes of caramel. Again, honey? Sweetish, slight caramel finish. 26-09-09. Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - OCT 15, 2009
Golden of color with a small white head. An aroma of caramel, malt, sweets and no hops. A flavor of malt, toffee and bread. HenrikSoegaard (14176) - Randers, DENMARK - SEP 28, 2009
Bottle. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Dark yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Average light bitter finish. Watery palate. Boring beer. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - SEP 13, 2009
Reddish brown pour, nutty aroma, nice hints of caramel, hops, and malts. A little sweet on the aftertaste.

Bottled. Poured clear, lighter amber with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up toasty iced tea, chocolate, and nutty notes with definite accents of butterscotch and oxidation.. old, but decent. The flavor had sweet nutty notes, tea, and caramel with vanilla laced throughout.. bitterness was no longer a factor.. sweet finish. Light-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. OK feel, and a decent drink all-around. milljam (682) - Norman, Oklahoma, USA - FEB 10, 2009
An interesting take on a dark lager. I found it to actually be drinkable. Pretty smooth flavor, but not much in the aroma. Cavie (4718) - Arlington, Texas, USA - FEB 5, 2009
Tried on tap at a local hangout. This beer stays close to the Bavarian style as it boasts quite a hoppy punch. hopdog (12584) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2009
12oz bottle acquired in trade with lb4lb (thanks!). Poured a medum and clear amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of some breadiness, some caramel, and some roast. Some earthiness too. Tastes of caramel, lighter roastiness, and toasted nuts. ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - DEC 16, 2008
12oz bottle. Poured a deep golden color with moderate white head and no lacing.
Smell is very light and almost undectable. Tastes of strong malt character is balanced nicely by a firm hop background. Leaves a nice mouth feel. An easy drinking beer. Very refreshing when drinking in summertime.
