Not too bad. When in Texas, no reason not to support this stuff vs. the mainstream beers. Kind of an amber like beer witha little bit of flavor. Not great, but drinkable.

Drinkable. Basic beer flavor. Cola-like head. Dark amber-colored beer that tastes like light beer on steroids, with a bit more acidity and aftertaste. Nothing special here. Good beer for the price though.

Bottle: Ruby amber color with a tiny off-white head that quickly fades. Aroma: oxidation, grains, light caramel, metal, corn, cardboard. Taste: Grain, corn, metal, oxidized, some caramel hidden in there. Very watery and light. I tell myself I only tried this beer because I had to buy a 6 pack of it for trade.

Nice pour, nice color, decent head. Aroma is grainy/malty, minimal hops present. Thin on the palate, flavor is metallic grains. Bland is the name of the game here. Short aftertaste. I think this could be a decent "gateway" for introducing someone to more flavorful and exotic brews.

Pours lite amber with a fizzy head. Aroma is of oxidation, diacetyl, and faint caramel. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. Taste is bland with some really bad oxidation. Despite all this, what really makes this beer bad is the arrogance of the brewery. Calling this a bock is like calling Gennesee cream ale a barleywine. The two have nothing to fucking do with eachother. A bock is rich and spicy. A bock has over 6% abv and this falls short. A bock is supposed to be liquid bread; this is liquid shit. Shame on the brewery and shame on me for trying it.

Light Muddy Brown Coloring With Good Head. Little Malt and Grain There, but Overall, Pretty Bland....

Shiner--A great alternative to having to order Bud. Some yeasty aromas that remind me a bit of a wiesen. Taste is smooth and inoffensive. Don’t mess with Texas.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2008 This is the first beer my friends and I bought in college at Texas A&M. We weren’t legal at the time, but still. For that reason and that reason only, this beer will always hold a special place in my heart. Otherwise, it’s the most overrated beer in Texas. Watery nut with a sour butter finish.

I’m a little surprised they get away with calling this a bock. Bocks tend to have a more full body and malty taste but this is simply a darker version of Michelob without the head. Nonetheless, it is a very drinkable beer and is quite agreeable on tap. Whenever I travel to Texas it seems to be ubiquitous. That’s OK I guess since it is a middle of the road session beer. Not very special but accomodating.

This is not the same beer it was 10 years ago. It has changed into a watered down beer that is easy to drink floating down the Guadalupe river.Very little head ; brown to amber color ; malty cardboard aroma ; light taste. Perfect for all day summer consumtion when water or the lite beers won’t do
