Poured into a pint glass. A transparent copper color with half finger of head that was bubbly and short-lived. Smells faintly like wet hay. It has an unpleasant smell too, hard to place but not nice. Mild malt sweetness at first, a faint touch of bitter (not really bitter, but less sweet). Watery taste overall. Medium body, moderate carbonation, unremarkable. This was difficult because I used to drink Shiner all the time years ago when I lived in Corpus Christi because it was the only beer with some flavor to it. Its a caramel colored American lager with a little less carbonation and a touch of sweetness.

A real pleasure to drink without filling you up like other dark beers. Smooth notes of hops, with no bitter taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark amber with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and malty but not very strong so its hard to elaborate. Taste is also sweet and malty, feels kind of thick but turns watery reel quick. Its an easy beer to drink but nothing special.

Draught in TX (Dallas, not Shiner ( )APPEARANCE- dark amber, fairly flat pour. But I blame this hotel, not the beer. NOSE- light, slightly malty scent. Complete lack of hops. FLAVOR- smooth NOTES- smooth, good drinking beer. The poor rating on this is disappointing. This isnt the best Vienna lagder out there, but its a solid beer, and it tastes great in the TX heat. Long live Shiner!

On tap at the Silverado Grill in Elmhurst, IL. and dispensed to a chilled shaker, showing a hazed, brownish amber color, with a presentable layer of off white/light tan head foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was malty, lightly toasted, with a bit of nuttiness, and light caramel. Light to medium bodied, with lively carbonation, the taste was similar, added a hint of toffee with no sweetness, and low, supportive bitterness. Sessionably flavorful, and paired well with the steak entre.

4 oz. pour, on tap at The Ginger Man in Austin, Texas. Consumed on 11-6-16. Clear, dark tan. Insubstantial appearance. Small amount of beige head. Weak and nondescript aroma. Lightly spicy, bland, beery flavor. Orange. Easy to drink. Light body. Insubstantial palate effects. Barely above a macro pale lager.

This bock poured a deep amber colour with a bright white, foaming head. Not much lacing. Scents include honey, cereal and vanilla. First swig was quite thin with flavours of malt, syrup and cereal. Finish is malty with light bitterness lingering on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
