12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden deep orange to amber with a small white head. Breadish, light caramelish and roasted aroma. Flavour is subdued sweet, caramelish and mild roasted. Vague metallic and flat finish.

Ungstrup (37558) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - NOV 4, 2010
Bottled. An amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of alcohol and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, as well as lighter notes of alcohol, bread, and sulphur. Not good for a bock.

oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAR 5, 2010
[email protected] 1st Vaasa CS/ES beer session (thanks ER). Dark ambery brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is bready malts, caramel malts and mild strange sweetness. Flavour is caramel and bready malts along with some papery notes as well as herbs and mild bitterness. Not that offensive, just boring.

Nut brown. Rather thin, some soft bitterness. Not a bock by any means, but a lot better than the mega lagers.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 21, 2006
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. Sweetish, malty caramelish nose. Medium body dominated by roasted malt and again some caramel. Sweetish, but not overwhelmingly so. Almost no bitterness. According to German tradition this is far from a Bock, but for an American macro it’s not really too bad. 200306

At the time I drank this in Texas in the 80s it was the best beer you could get there, and I enjoyed it. Thankfully there is more available now. No reason to go back to this one.

fiulijn (20491) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 11, 2007
Amber color; big head. Light aroma, stronger taste, anyway with anything else than caramel; a bit metallic and some residual sweetness. Too simple.

Test vom 19.10.2004, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,9,7,11,9 - 8,55
