From bottle. Amber color. Malty aroma. Very sweet malty taste with some caramel notes. Quite sweet, which I usually like, but this is really sweet for a bock.
LCI. Poured from the bottle. Nice bock, malty with caramel, reasonable tasty, not bad. jrobins422 (1) - - MAY 14, 2017 does not count
A real pleasure to drink without filling you up like other dark beers. Smooth notes of hops, with no bitter taste.

Pours a dark amber with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and malty but not very strong so it’s hard to elaborate. Taste is also sweet and malty, feels kind of thick but turns watery reel quick. It’s an easy beer to drink but nothing special. Aggiebob (1095) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - DEC 16, 2016
Draft. Amber color with a white head. Malty aroma. Caramel taste. First shiner since ’89. bnokk (527) - Lee, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 12, 2016
Draught in TX (Dallas, not Shiner ( )APPEARANCE-
dark amber, fairly flat pour. But I blame this hotel, not the beer.
light, slightly malty scent. Complete lack of hops.
NOTES- smooth, good drinking beer. The poor rating on this is disappointing. This isn’t the best Vienna lagder out there, but it’s a solid beer, and it tastes great in the TX heat. Long live Shiner! tmoreau (4289) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - DEC 6, 2016
On tap at the Silverado Grill in Elmhurst, IL. and dispensed to a chilled shaker, showing a hazed, brownish amber color, with a presentable layer of off white/light tan head foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was malty, lightly toasted, with a bit of nuttiness, and light caramel. Light to medium bodied, with lively carbonation, the taste was similar, added a hint of toffee with no sweetness, and low, supportive bitterness. Sessionably flavorful, and paired well with the steak entrée. islay (2634) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 20, 2016
4 oz. pour, on tap at The Ginger Man in Austin, Texas. Consumed on 11-6-16. Clear, dark tan. Insubstantial appearance. Small amount of beige head. Weak and nondescript aroma. Lightly spicy, bland, beery flavor. Orange. Easy to drink. Light body. Insubstantial palate effects. Barely above a macro pale lager.
