COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A few centuries ago, during the cold winter months, farmhands in Europe brewed a ‘seasonal provision’ Farmhouse Ale to be enjoyed once spring rolled around. In the farmlands of Shiner, TX that tradition lives on. Which is why our tribute to this style uses Golding, Sterling and Meridian hops for a sweet yet lightly spiced flavor. Our incredibly refreshing farmhouse ale bears the name of the farm to market road just to the south of where our brewery has proudly stood for over 100 years.

Golden with an off-white head. Aroma of spices, grain, and a hint of citrus. Taste is decent; kind of a weak, grainy saison. Light medium bodied.

Gold with thin white head, and a pear ester and sulfur aroma. Taste is the same, and very mildly malty and sweet. Not bad, but nothing to it, really. $2/12oz

Bottle; poured a dark gold color with a smaller light white head. Aroma of yeast, bread, brett, honey and farmhouse. Flavor was a touch watery but ok. Lacking some complexity of the better examples. Palate was a bit harsh.

Tangy, with a hint of sourness. Some fruit and spice notes. Pours a bright gold, with a medium-sized white head. Not bad.

Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 18, 2013
Clear dull golden pour with minimal ring of near white head. Smells faintly lemon zesty and black pepper. Flavor is like a very carbonated budweiser but replace corn with wheat. Lemon bitter pith on the finish. Kinda like a slightly watered down version of the style. But overall, not that bad actually.

Bottle. Lightly musty lemon and malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with nice head. Mildly sweet lemon malt and lightly bitter hay flavor. Pretty good - a solid beer.

Tasted from 12oz brown bottle into a shaker glass. It poured a clear amber colour with weak white foam. Faint aromas of grain, sweet malts, earthy and flowery hops and even fainter ale yeast esters. Flavour was caramel, tangy hops balance and apricot fruit roll-ups. Medium body and carbonation, some sticky sweetness in the aftertaste. Nothing like a classic saison, but slightly more complex than Shiner Bock amber lager. An interesting step in the right direction, but I liked their Wild Hare Pale Ale better.

22 oz bottle. Golden pour. White head. Some floral sweetness but kind of watery weak sauce.

On tap at an Old Chicago. Pours a near orangish gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of flora with supporting sweet citrus and backing sweet grains. Flavor starts with sweet citrus and potpourri and has a sweet grain finish.

Has a light saison-style aroma. Looks nice. This is pretty simple in the body with a bit flavor to it that just seems off in the finish. Not quite right.
