“Kosmos Spoetzl knew how to brew great beer. Born in Bavaria, Kosmos’ mastery of German brewing carried him as far as Egypt before he found his way to the small Texas town of Shiner. Our proud brewery still carries his name and commitment to excellence in brewing. This full-flavored, hop-jacked lager is every bit as unique as the man himself and our way of saluting the brewmaster who started it all.”

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2013 12oz bottle in Shiner variety 6-pack (kind of a Shiner marathon night). Poured into lager glass amber-ish golden color, very thin white head. Aroma of biscuit, sweet malt and maybe the slightest of hops. Taste brings out some grassy hops. Light and smooth mouthfeel. Easy drinking.

This was a shared tasting with Strykzone. Pours dark gold with a white head. Nose of lemongrass. Medium body and a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor of sweet caramel malts and grassy hops. Finishes with some spiciness and bitterness. Decent beer/

12 oz. bottle from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Clear and copper in color. An off white head of just over one finger. Aroma is grain and lemon grass. Flavor is kind of fruity, kind of grassy, kind of sugary, kind of syrupy. A bit of Euro hop notes under there.

Big, fluffy white head, long lasting. A little hoppy and a little dark tasting. Not bad actually, quite drinkable. Only slight aftertaste. A bit underrated.

TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 21, 2017
Pours a clear bright yellow golden color with white head. Cereal grains, grass, and some nice malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Finishes crisp and clean, very well done.

ccex (1313) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 20, 2017
12 oz. bottle pours a clear dark golden color with quickly vanishing white head and no lacing. Not much aroma, but some grains, corn, and perhaps butterscotch. Taste is slightly bitter but not hoppy. Body is light with average carbonation. At least I got only two of these in a sampler 12-pack for $10. You get what you pay for.

Pours a rich gold, effervescent head. Aroma of grain, corn, honey, cardboard. All out of whack on the tongue, sweet corn, a strange bitterness, pepper, pennies, homebrew finish. Not good guys.

Cimbasso (891) - - FEB 9, 2017
Sampled from a bottle. A dark gold lager with a white head. Caramel and malt dominate the flavour with some mild hop taste towards the end. Not much bitterness. A rather bland and sweet lager.

Deep gold with a small white head. The aroma is slightly malty, with a bit of caramel. The flavor has some caramel as well, shifting to a earthy, herbal, bitterness.
