Medium gold color. Nice combination of medium sweetness and alcohol. Light bitterness and a touch of fragrance from the hops. Toffee aroma. Very enjoyable. Strykzone (7491) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 14, 2017
12 oz. bottle from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Clear and copper in color. An off white head of just over one finger. Aroma is grain and lemon grass. Flavor is kind of fruity, kind of grassy, kind of sugary, kind of syrupy. A bit of Euro hop notes under there. hayduke (5579) - Eureka, California, USA - JUN 14, 2017
This was a shared tasting with Strykzone. Pours dark gold with a white head. Nose of lemongrass. Medium body and a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor of sweet caramel malts and grassy hops. Finishes with some spiciness and bitterness. Decent beer/ milljam (682) - Norman, Oklahoma, USA - FEB 11, 2010
Aroma of pine hops, rice/corn and malt. Flavor has a combination of malt, crisp hops, and lager notes. Not bad overall. taphandle (1135) - Texas, USA - APR 11, 2010
Dark yellow, good head, good carbonation. Not much going on with the aroma, considering the bottle talks about hops. It’s in the taste that some hops flavor comes through, rising just above some malty sweetness. There some fruit flavors - perhaps that of peaches that comes through with the finish. I’m not sure why this one has fared so badly on RateBeer. It’s not an outstanding brew, but I think it holds its own.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan. Steady, thin, white head. Medium bodied, sessionable Lager. Smooth malty tones, nice Lager tones. Unimpressive soapy, peppery hop balance. A little too harsh and biting, kind of throws the beer off. I can dig the concept, but it certainly isn’t done well here. OK and sessionable. wlajwl (6950) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - FEB 9, 2011
Does have a nice hop aroma and bite to it in the flavor, not a really balanced lager but still interesting considering how hoppy it is. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - JUN 5, 2011
Clear light gold, small white head. Sweet honeyed cereal nose, little honeydew melon. Clean molasses sweetness, medium bodied, dries out in the finish with some hay. ronaldtheriot (1965) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JUN 16, 2011
Shiner Kosmos Reserve has a thin-to-medium, egg shell-colored head and a clear, copper appearance, with a good amount of bubbles streaming up and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of roasted barley and, surprisingly, of some slight citrus. Taste is of barley, and a decent hoppiness shows up here. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Shiner Kosmos Reserve finishes crisp, clean, and very refreshing. Overall, this is one of the better Shiner offerings. I recommend it!

Dark amber. Fast, white head. Aroma: Grains, caramel. Flavor: Grains, malt, caramel, hops and some spices I cannot identify. Unusual to the finish and difficult to rate. Going by the ratings, this is a beer you will either like or hate and I have never seen opinions differ so much. I for one do not like grainy lagers but I like this one so I guess I have to "Drink my words!"
