“Kosmos Spoetzl knew how to brew great beer. Born in Bavaria, Kosmos’ mastery of German brewing carried him as far as Egypt before he found his way to the small Texas town of Shiner. Our proud brewery still carries his name and commitment to excellence in brewing. This full-flavored, hop-jacked lager is every bit as unique as the man himself and our way of saluting the brewmaster who started it all.”

Drinkable, refreshing, but no character to be found. Give me just about any Canadian lager over this one, even macro.

Atom (2528) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 3, 2017
12oz bottle pours a mostly clear semi hazy amber orange with a large white head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel malt and light yeast. Taste has a bright fruity sweetness with sweet caramel malt, right before it gets too sweet it hits some hop bitterness and lager yeast. Pretty good.

2.4
brownaler (692) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - SEP 3, 2017
Slight metallic taste in the body that is a bit harsher version of a Czech Pilsner.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7932) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 14, 2017
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark bronze color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet perfume, grass, and phenol. The flavor was sourish with hints of caramel, bread, perfume and grass. Medium length finish. Medium body. Not good.

Cakes (445) - New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 5, 2017
12 ounce bottle. Medium gold color. Nice combination of medium sweetness and alcohol. Light bitterness and a touch of fragrance from the hops. Toffee aroma.

Grovlam (4252) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 5, 2017
Bottle. Light bubbly beige head. Light cloudy pale yellow color. Aroma of ryebread, fruit, malt, caramel. Light body. Light sweet. Light caramel finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

hayduke (5575) - Eureka, California, USA - JUN 14, 2017
This was a shared tasting with Strykzone. Pours dark gold with a white head. Nose of lemongrass. Medium body and a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor of sweet caramel malts and grassy hops. Finishes with some spiciness and bitterness. Decent beer/

12 oz. bottle from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Clear and copper in color. An off white head of just over one finger. Aroma is grain and lemon grass. Flavor is kind of fruity, kind of grassy, kind of sugary, kind of syrupy. A bit of Euro hop notes under there.

ginotarugo (70) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 26, 2017
Big, fluffy white head, long lasting. A little hoppy and a little dark tasting. Not bad actually, quite drinkable. Only slight aftertaste. A bit underrated.

TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 21, 2017
Pours a clear bright yellow golden color with white head. Cereal grains, grass, and some nice malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Finishes crisp and clean, very well done.

ccex (1345) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 20, 2017
12 oz. bottle pours a clear dark golden color with quickly vanishing white head and no lacing. Not much aroma, but some grains, corn, and perhaps butterscotch. Taste is slightly bitter but not hoppy. Body is light with average carbonation. At least I got only two of these in a sampler 12-pack for $10. You get what you pay for.
