Shiner Light is a full-flavored, deep amber light beer. Our brewmaster blends choice Munich malt and select hops with pure artesian water to create a beer thats lower in calories but full of the rich flavor you expect from shiner beers.

Poured from 12 oz can into pilsner glass. Appearance: pours a thick 2" sudsy white head that falls quickly with quite a bit of lacing. Color is clear pale straw with plenty of streaming carbonation. Aroma: malt sweetness and grain husks with even a bit of hop spice. Mouthfeel: light & crisp with a dry finish. Flavor: lightly toasted barley malt, corn sweetness, a slight mineral aspect and enough hop bitterness to actually be detectable. Overall: for a light beer this has a surprising amount of flavor. If I drank light beers on a regular basis I would definitely consider this an option.

Originally rated on 10/8/2006. For a light beer its not bad, definatley better than most lights, but it is a watered down version of shiner bock. Decent aftertaste and smell is o.k. If you have to drink a light its worth trying.

vipinvelp (4604) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - MAY 22, 2015
From bottle at dark Continental Club. It’s a beer, I think because it’s a fluid. (Houston 201505)

"Had w dinner. Non offensive but nothing special as expected. If I needed to go light this might be the choice (though Sam Adams is more likely) but I hope that day never comes. Grassy hop aroma that disappears a little on the palate."

355ml twist off. Absolutely watery beer, very similiar to any other light lager in all ways.

generallee08 (778) - New York, USA - JUL 18, 2014
This beer has a very clear straw yellow color with a light soapy head on top that quickly dissipates. Only a small ring of bubbles is left and lacing is nill. The aroma is light clean and a little bready with the slightest hint of grassy hops. It’s simple, clean and light bodied. Light bready maltiness brings mild sweetness for the light hops to balance. The texture is light and well carbonated but not overly fizzy.

Pours a very pale straw yellow color with white head. Mostly a little cereal grain on the nose; follows onto the palate. Typical adjunct light lager.

Bottle from Once Upon a Vine - South on 04/02/2011. Clear golden yellow body with a small frothy white head. Sweet honey and light malt aroma. Sweet honey and light cherrios flavor with some graininess. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

Erzengel (9899) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 10, 2013
Rating from 2011: Sehr hellgelbe Farbe im Glas, weißer Schaum. Der Antrunk st leicht getreidig-wässrig. Im Hauptteil Pale-Lager typisch, recht wässrig, süffig, leicht malzig. Der Nachgeschmack ist mittellang, malzig, leicht getreidig und süffig-wässrig.
--> typisches Pale Lager. Dafür aber gar nicht so schlecht. -->8/13/7/7
