Maybe the best SHINER yet. Too bad you can’t get it ever again. Proud to say I got a few before they were gone. beerguy06 (2) - Houston, Texas, USA - NOV 30, 2005 does not count
An excellent addition for the shiner family. Light, yet full of flavor with a slight sweetness. Once, its gone, its gone a great way to start the celebration philbertk (1873) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 14, 2010

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2007 By far the best Shiner I’ve had..the 97 is an o.k. black lager, the 98 is decent..but they stumbled upon a minor masterpiece w/this one a few years back to open their annvrsry line... a sweet, almost spicy maple flavor that was truly original. Here’s hoping they bring this back full-time,it puts the rest of their output to shame leah2974 (453) - Georgia, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Savory, soy sauce nose. Small head. Lighter body. Clear caramel appearance. Very balanced. Warming, soothing flavor.

Mild malt aroma. Head clears quick. Smooth malt taste. Clean finish. Rich clear light brown with a hint of amber. Mild sourness but finish feels clean. Another fine brew from Shiner. obguthr (6432) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - SEP 29, 2014
Honey and barley malt nose, dried leaves. Clear orange, medium head, modest lacing. Honey and cereal grain. Medium body, easy carbonation. Nice balance and pleasant intensity for a lager. Impressive offering from Shiner. ordybill (1800) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - OCT 4, 2015
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. This beer has a very clear orange color with a large white head. The aroma is mostly malt with some spice added. The taste is very malty with some hop at the end. A real good Oktoberfest offering from Shiner. UnicornBrewing (10) - - SEP 22, 2016
hunch neighbor’s pooch escaped, we let it be, figured he still favors survival, and the old guy was hanging out back when I went to pee. Couldn’t get him over fence but figured out how to open back gate easily. Sort of hushed sounding foam, you’d expect more hype from a beer with a marketing department, but keep it cool, bedroom voices. Balanced and light like a matching sheet and comforter set in a fall breeze. Rich as the middle class of Europe, talking in a cafe in gentile yet pithy tones. Wouldn’t feel bad paying twelve euro for a litre mug of this, because I could drink a few of em, but I bet they wouldn’t even cost that much in Munchen. Good match up with Abita Octoberfest, a little more bitter. Each of these southern fests light and refreshing, made to sell many six packs and spare tires. Grain bill one you find easy to pay. Dryness reminds of a wet dog toweled off and sitting in sun for a while.
