COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Shiner Brewing Association and original brewmaster Kosmos Spoetzl began an old world brewing tradition that continues today in Shiner, Texas. This copper-colored, medium-to-full-bodied Dusseldorf-style alt features a balance of malt and hops, a long-lasting, creamy head, and a dry smooth finish. This small-batch brew is our first Brewer’s Pride selection, and we hope you savor every sip. Prosit!

Pours a clear amber with thin white head. Aroma is pretty sweet, but not terribly strong. Its ok.

Malted ale with subtile oak and fruit notes. Caramel color thin head. High drinkability.

Bottled. A very watery version of an alt with light hops and light flavoring.

Bottle thanks Doomfistinc definitely has that alt bier taste but in a slightly lighter format. Nice noble hop character.

Entirely inoffensive and entirely forgettable. I would drink it again if offered. It does nothing to offend but there’s nothing worth going back to again. Tastes a bit similar to the old Shiner Premium but with the Czech influences tamed down to appease the masses.

KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - JAN 30, 2011
Bottle
Light and sweet roasted malt, dry autumn leaves in the nose and a nice and thick amber body. Flavor is alted leaves, light roasted nut, wooden popcorn, sour water. Watery mouthfeel. More mediocrity from the lil’ brewery in Shiner.

llcooldave (1221) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - JUN 16, 2011
Clear red copper in color. Slight metallic grassy aroma. Basic "lager" flavor with a slight nuttyness. Overall, it’s not that exciting but looks good in the glass...

2.8
decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JAN 15, 2012
Deep gold pour with frothy off white head and lace. Light caramel malt light citrus aroma and a hinto sulphur I think. Sweet malt, perfumy, and a light resiny bittter. Foamy light/medium bodied beer.

Butters (4063) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUL 10, 2012
Clear pale amber pour with thin ring of khaki head. No real aroma other than a light grainy sweetness. Flavor was about what I expected, with some caramel, earthy hops, maybe pine, musty, and a little creamy. Didn’t really think much of it though. Meh.

BigJarv79 (1) - Missouri, USA - FEB 15, 2011 does not count
Bottle from a Shiner sampler pack, no overwhelming tastes present but not bothersome. Little hoppy, little malty, barely any aroma to it, easy to drink but not memorable.
