Pours clear amber color with a 2-finger off-white head. Sweet, fruity aroma that I assume is the cactus, with a citrus hops note underneath. Body is a bit lighter than medium, a touch watery. Finish is brief and lightly dry. Juicy, sweet fruit flavor with a touch of acidity giving some sourness. Earthy yeast at the back, with some citrus peel. tnkw01 (1756) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 2, 2015
Bottle. Drank from a bottle. Aroma was a nasty fruity smell that was not appealing. Taste was even worse. Not a very good beer. conway (2210) - - SEP 26, 2015
Bottle. Copper with white head. Fruity candy sweetness, lightly tart. Thinnish mouthfeel and prickly carb. Tasty but a little too sweet. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 13, 2015
Bottle. Pours a clear orangish gold body with a small fizzy white head. The nose is super fruity and sweet, it smells more like candy than it does beer. The flavor is just as sweet as the aroma suggested, not sure what a prickly pear tastes like, but they must be sweet as all get out. Very one dimensional and boring stuff. Lighter bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a lingering grainy finish. Wouldn’t give this one another try. DANEgerous (96) - Texas, USA - SEP 12, 2015
refreshing, a very nice fruit beer that is very clean and does have the flavor of the somewhat illusive fruit.

Pours gold into a shaker. Off-white head with good retention craters as it recedes. Fruity, tart prickly pear aromas. Mild, tart fruit upfront turning to marshmallow in the medium length finish. Tastes like a white Smartie.... and I never know what thats supposed to taste like. My favorite that I have tried from Shiner. hman43 (1612) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - SEP 6, 2015
It pours light amber in color with a small head that quickly disappears. It has citrus and floral aromas with a sweet, tart aroma of dark fruit. It has a sweet tart flavor with citrus and dark fruit like flavors that has an odd bit of sweetness to it. It is a bit lively on the palate. Danyel (1606) - Colorado, USA - AUG 31, 2015
Bottle. Pours clear brown with off-white head. Aroma is very juicy, berries, cherries, ciderlike. If I didn’t know better I’d say it was a cider. Taste is light bodied, high carbonation, med-sweet, earthy. Overall, okay. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - AUG 28, 2015
Bottle. Sweet artificial fruit / Jolly Rancher aroma. Clear copper with a small off-white head. Watery artificial fruit flavor with a faint bitterness in the finish. Light watery body, soft carbonation. Blech. GreatDane1632 (1169) - North Dakota, USA - AUG 16, 2015
Rated based on notes taken 11 Nov 2012 -- This beer surprised me. I was expecting a crappy fruit beer. Instead it’s a decent fruit beer. The prickly pear comes through pretty well in the nose and there’s just a hint of it in the flavor. Wish there was more, but not bad.
