COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This small batch brew is the third in our Limited Edition Brewer’s Pride Craft Brew Series. A combination of Citra and US Golding hops gives this refreshing lager its citrus flavor and floral aroma. The brew’s signature tartness comes from the fruit of the prickly pear, a cactus native to our brewery’s landscape that’s hearty, rugged and unmistakably unique - qualities we surely appreciate. Prosit!

Dark amber pour with a foamy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of hops, lots of alcohol, and I guess what’s prickly pear flowers. Sour flavor - tart with only a little sweetness and no bitter. Floral, prickly pear, berry flavors. The most interesting beer I’ve tried from Shiner. Not bad at all.

Twelve ounce bottle bought as part of mix 6 pack from Village Market (Harris Teeter’s yuppie division), Johns Island, South Carolina, tasted on July 20, 2016. Medium dark amber color, sweet pear/Kool-Aid smell, undistinguished sweet/grainy taste, not much pear flavor. Better than some other second tier fruit beers I’ve had but nothing to write home about.

A classic American light Lager, refreshing and drinkable. Is it gonna blow your mind and make you question everything you thought you knew about beer? No is it tasty? Yes. Could you drink a few back to back on a hot day? Definitely. It's good. You should try it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 10/3/2016. Pours crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 1 -2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big watermelon, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, pear, pineapple, lemon, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of cactus fruit and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of watermelon, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, pear, pineapple, lemon, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/toasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and slight fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of watermelon, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, pear, pineapple, lemon, toasted biscuit, light caramel, floral/toasted earthiness. Nice robustness and balance of cactus fruit and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/tart balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/grainy mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a nice fruit beer. All around good robustness and balance of cactus fruit and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy medium sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated transparent light purple hued colored body and a fair lacing. The nice aroma was pear. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering fruity aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of pear mild hops and fruity. An OK brew just nothing special.

FROTHINGSLOSH (8142) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 25, 2016
Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a dark bronze color with a medium sized foamy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy with a strong fruity presence. The flavor was sweet with pear, apple and artificial sugar. Long finish. Medium body. Meh.

Deep reddish amber beer with a medium foamy light tan head that has good retention and lacing. Nose of strawberry taffy, candied citrus, and sweet perfume. Flavor is less sweet than the aroma, but still quite sweet, with an unusual fruity flavor that dominates and a sugary aftertaste without much bitterness to counterbalance. What is a novelty initially quickly becomes cloying. Worth a taste, but not something I’d drink again.

Bottle. Pours golden with a thin white head. Aroma was fruity with pears & berries. Flavor was sweet and fruity with floral hops, pears and had some berry tartness.
