Shiner Light Blonde has a medium, stark-white head, a clear, light-straw color, with lots of streaming bubbles and almost no lacing. The aroma is of musty, sweet & sour grain, with a little spice noticed in the sniff. The flavor is of sweet, musty grain, paper, sourness, and grass. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Shiner Light Blonde finishes dry and crisp. Overall, this is a substandard beer, even in the light class. Not very good at all. RJT

Tap flight at Freetail Brewing. Very light yellow pour with a big meringue white foam head. Superb lacing. Smells like a wit beer; wheat and coriander. Taste is like mashed up Wonder Bread soaked in water. Now I know what the buns taste like when Joey Chestnut is throwing down at the hot dog eating contest. USA! USA! USA! It’s actually not bad to me for what it is. More flavor than your standard 90 calorie brew and some respectable qualities.

In bottle at dark Continental Club so hard to tell color, foam and aroma. Taste is that of low alcohol bears, barley. Little bitter aftertaste. (Houston 201208) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

If someone said to me "you must drink a light beer right this instant; what kind do you want" I’d pick this. Not because it’s actually better than other light beers but because it looks like something you’d drink if you were playing bass in a little honky tonk in Texas and you were trying to watch your waistline by washing down that order of onion rings between sets with this instead of a Shiner Bock.

Pours a clear light yellow with a small white head. There's a faint aroma of pale malt and bread. The taste is pale malts up front giving way to a slight bread and yeast flavor. Not too bad for a light beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle poured into a tiny motel-room glass. Pours piss yellow with minimal white head. Aroma of light herbal hops and skunk. Taste is about the same, going farther on the herbal side. Light bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not that bad. Much better than most of the "light" beers out there.

Clever package and name for another Shiner light golden beer. Less taste, less filling. Golden color, with light white head. Light toast malt flavor, like white bread. Pretty standard.

Clean beer. Easy drinking because of the clean finish. Goes best after a summer activity like cutting the grass or doing yard work. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
