Spring has sprung at the little brewery in Shiner, TX (pop. 2,070). And with it, our newest brew, Shiner Dortmunder-Style Spring Ale. The Old World classic pours deep gold in color, with a white head and smooth flavor. Its medium hop bitterness and hints of grain, honey and floral hops will refresh you like a sun-drenched nap on a lush green lawn.

It pours a clear dark gold with a thin white head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is bascially nonexistant. The flavor pretty much follows suit. There’s possibly a hint of hop bitterness up front but finishes rather bland. I might detect a glimpse of honey but this beer is very uninteresting.

grass, earthy, lightly bitter, light sweetness, lightly sour, medium body, lively, enjoyed this more than i thought due to its light nature

12oz bottle. I’ve had this one a few times now, so about time for a review. Pours a dark amber/copper with a finger-width beige head. Nose is sharp with grassy hops, floral overtones, lemon zest. Crisp feel. Slick finish. Nice hop bite at the onset, followed by a faint citrus kick. Refreshing beer that really hits the spot each and every time.

Bottle. Clear gold pour with a white head that laces a bit. Nose and taste is grain, mild sweetness, and very mild hop. Pretty blah.

Light amber color that clarifies as the beer sets.. The flavor is a slightly sweet straw with a very slight strawberry fruitiness. Light body.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear dark gold color with an inch off-white head that sticked around for a little while. There’s also a decent amount of lacing left on the glass. The brew smells like bready malt and fruit (apricots?). It tastes like bready/grainy malt, dried fruit, and a bit of herbal hops. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit syrupy with moderate carbonation. Overall it’s not a bad brew at all. I bought this as a single bottle so I could try it. Not sure if I’d buy a 6 pack of this or not, but I would try this again in the future.

Lawnmower beer. Yellow and fizzy with just a touch of hop bitterness in there. I would like this on a hot day after sweating my balls off, but it is just a step above BMC.

Quite sweet, light grainy aroma. A light bready, light malt taste and fairly sweet, but not too substantial. Poured golden in color with slight white head. Good cold but not so much as the temp goes up.

12 oz. bottle. Pours gold with a thin, off-white head. The aroma is bread, barnyard must, and light apricots. The flavor is malty sweetness, and herbal hops. The palate is medium, grainy, and malty. Overall, not bad.

This is slightly sweet and rather floral beer. Lighter colored than I expected. Not much head.
