Cask conditioned at The Ship Inn, Low Newton by the Sea, Northumberland. Pale yellow gold with white head. Light and fresh lemon sherbert flavour from the start with a slight fizzy feel on the tongue. Sharp, refreshing and pretty pallateable, another good beer from here. Cask handpull, The Ship Inn, Low Newton, Northumberland. Milky slick collar draped over deep tawny amber. Nose sickbowl citrus, medicinal cherry lolly, Hall and Woodhouse-type fruit and wholemeal. Slick and soapy with caramel and faint nutty notes, some toffee and bitter orange. Robust bittering hop without aromatics. A bit drab, but solid.
