Shipyard Applehead is a crisp, refreshing wheat ale with a delightful apple aroma and subtle cinnamon flavor. This beer is available in 6-packs, 12-packs and on draft.

We asked Pumpkinhead fans what other flavors would they like to see and their answer was apple, said director of sales and marketing, Bruce Forsley. We listened to what our fans asked for and created Shipyard Applehead. Master brewer Alan Pugsley has combined the subtle sweetness of cinnamon and apple with a clean, refreshing wheat ale to create a whole new beer experience.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours light amber. Slight whitish head. Cinnamon is the primary aroma - but the effect is something like a cold baked apple. Med minus body. Flavor is cinnamon/sweet with some apple skin, and there is a bit of skin astringency. Calling it cinnamon beer would be more on point.

Bottle. Poured clear orange copper with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sweet apple spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth sweet spice flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear amber color with a medium creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big cinnamon notes, brown sugar and faint apples. Like what I imagine Apple Jaxx to smell like, though I havent had that in years. The taste is cinnamon, toasted malts, other spices and an apple finish. Medium bodied. Overpowered by the spice.
