28 oct 3013, bottle. Brown and a bit hazy. Nose is meaty, dark toast, faint raisin. Thin body as mildly fizzy. Stale raisins, burnt toast, mildly astringent alcohol, maybe some slight port notes.

Pours deep deep deep red..... short off white head. Nose of well hidden alcohol, treacle, biscuit malts, and a lot of hops. Now, these hops don’t monstrously endanger the beer as they go from nose to palate. Sure.... it’s too young to be drinking right now. But, we’re not talking Old Crustacean. Butter tarts, pithy hops, burnt notes, cookie dough, spice bread. A little rum and wood. Tough of smoky butterscotch. I don’t have a big problem with this stuff. It’s not mind blowing. Bottle from god knows when. This could be 5 years old. Zero hops but the malt part of this holds up ok. Soy sauce aromas. Sweet candi sugar flavor with a lot of caramel and even more toffee. Smooth drink. A touch of bitterness but I don’t think those are hops. Aroma: Caramel, butterscotch, barley sugar. Not a lot. Strength is low.
Appearance: Brown, very thick and creamy head that never falls down. Too much head.
Taste: Again very caramel but with a strong bitterness as finish. Hops are very active. Caramel, malt and sugar notes are killed by hops. Too much bitterness for a Barley Wine. Bottle @ Bishops Arms Järntorget, Göteborg. Hazy very dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and oxidized. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. 250713

On tap at Tampa Bay Brewing Coral Springs. Pours dark brown with a brown head and aroma of fruits and vanilla. A - Pours a dark ruby brown with a 1 finger mocha head that forms a ceiling. Good lacing patterns.
S - Chocolate covered raspberries, fruity malt, roasted/burnt grain, alcohol vapors.
T - Dark fruits-figs, berries, sweet toffee malt, the chocolate seems to stay in the background, brown sugar, toasted brown rice. An herbal cocoa bitterness starts early grows towards the finish.
M - Full bodied with moderate carbonation. The alcohol is hidden well.
The hops kinda threw me off. Moderately hopped for an English Barleywine. I didn’t mind too much though. Drinks good. I would buy this again if it was cheaper.

Pours a very dark brown colour with low off white head leaving little lace. Aromas of rich sweet malt, caramel, toasted malts, sweet dried fruits, and a warming alcohol sensation. Flavour is sweet malt, warm alcohol, caramel, dried fruits, mild bitterness and toffee.
