Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of joergen. Clear, warm orangey brown with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of nuts and hops. Full-bodied, a little burned maltiness and coffee accents. Distinctly bitter finish. Not too bad, but not really your typical Barley Wine, rather an Imperial Brown or something. 270609 Rasmus40 (22171) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - AUG 1, 2013
Bottle @ Bishops Arms Järntorget, Göteborg. Hazy very dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and oxidized. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. 250713 Oakes (19426) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 27, 2008
Dark brown, bright. Fairly buttery (natch) with caramel and earth. Harsh astringency in terms of the malt/alcohol character makes it tough to drink. There is quite a bit of alcohol late and more butter. I was saddened by this brew.
