The aroma is sweet, smoked with slight notes of chocolate. The color is pitch black and it has a fine brown head. The flavor is sweet, sligthly smoked with notes of coffee and chocolate. Really good for a low alcohol stout. joergen (28142) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 20, 2008

Bottled. Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma of candy sugar chocolate and coffee. Flavour is quite the same but very sourish. Watery palate. Third or fourth Shipyard for me, so far they have not impressed me at all... omhper (25132) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - FEB 24, 2002
Dark brown, malty, roasty, bitter.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) A stout reminiscent of fluid tar when poured: thick and extremely dense. A carbonation is so heavy that it’s almost impossibly to pour without spilling. Beautiful brownish head. Very, very spicy and heavy on the smoked malts. Peat, tar all the same associations as you get when drinking the more smod Scottish single malts. Not heavy in body though, neither that bitter. A beer with great personality. Travlr (24826) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 21, 2013
Draft at the source. Dark briwn, thick briwn head. Aroma of burnt coffee grounds and bitter cocia. Taste is bittersweet cocoa and espresso. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2013

Opaque black brown beer, tidy tan head. Slightly crisp palate, semi dry. Minerally dark malt with a touch of roast. Trace amount of hop. Semi dry finish. Decent but one dimensional.
