Bottle from BevMo. Pours very black with a very large tan head. Aromas of chocolate and dark toast malt. Medium minus body with mild carbonation. Flavor is chocolate, coffee and really dark malt. A bit thin, but otherwise a good drink. Seems astringent, which might equate with dry. Pretty tasty, but not to die for. Id pick it over quite a few others.

Bottle. Poured black color with a huge fizzy light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Solid roasted malt aroma. Medium body with a creamy texture. Medium roasted sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer.

Dark brown with tan head. Aroma is mostly coffee, with some chocolate as well. Taste is bitter coffee, with a bit of chocolate. Not very rich -- tastes more like a porter than a stout.

12 ounce bottle from State Line Liquors, opened 3/15/11. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, sweet caramel notes and a nutty note. The taste is roasted malts, sunflower seeds and tart fruits that seem like theyre not supposed to be there. Thin bodied.
