This isn’t an Irish stout--or at least wasn’t last year when I bought a bottle. The bottle I had was black and thick, with a chocolate and walnut nose. It was a dense beer, somewhat one-dimensional with a sharp malt astringincy (too much crystal malt is what it tastes like). It’s a decent beer, but they need to ratchet back the crystal malt, and try to achieve the dryness through roasted barley and different hopping.
Nice malty aroma and rich taste. A little over carbonated. Very flavorful for a medium abv. Bottle hugo_assump (7) - Sao Paulo, BRAZIL - JAN 28, 2017 does not count

Bottle. Black in colour. Malty; roasty malts, lots of coffee, chocolate, caramel. Fruity; some sweet fruit. Hoppy; good hop bitterness. Good malt/hop balance. Bittersweet roast malty with a nice balancing hoppiness. Dry roasty throughout. Decent. Very drinkable. (2011-11-11)

Bottle; pours dark brown with a beige head; roasted malt aroma with chocolate and coffee; taste is mostly sweet with chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee; finish is dry and a touch bitter with some roasted notes; good stout crossovert (12642) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 20, 2016
355ml twist off (Still?) bottle. It is overcarbed, but if it wasn’t it would be a fine looking beer. Cola/bronw color and a large tan head. Aroma is typical dry stout, bit of coffee, bit of cocoa, bit of metal, grain, leafy hops, oxidized licorice. Surprisingly not heavily oxidized as this bottle is about a month past it’s BB, the havy carb might help. Flavor is predictably metallic, fruity though, some oxidation in a sherry form coming through, licorice and coffee, huge carb. It tastes like the stale English imports from years back, they’ve done a good job imitating old english brews with this one, maybe i should try it fresh and properly carbed someday.. It’s nothing to behold.

Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of coffee, roasted malts and some cocoa. The taste was similar to the aroma with more coffee, malts and chocolate. Not bad. arnold931 (1263) - Iowa, USA - DEC 17, 2015
