Pours a deep chestnut color with a thin off white head.......aroma is indeed nutty, sweet, bread dough......taste is slightly sweet, malt breadiness, refreshing mid palate with nice bite of unmistakeable English hard water malt combination which blend well and don’t step on each other, and hops which do not dominate. Quite a refreshing brew. Well done.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a ruddy burnt dark orange somewhat muddy in color, almost brown in color. Slight messy lacing. The aroma had malty sweet notes of caramel, toffee and fig. Sly crisp spicy hops with a little bit of rye and a dash of vanilla meld nicely. Some nuttiness. The flavor is malty sweet with some quick spicy tones and then develops into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. Malts seem to tame the spicy tones. Overall, American strong ale or English? Not sure but it is worthy of having again.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a dark reddish brown body, slightly creamy colored one finger head that dissipated fairly quickly, small amount of light bubbles slowly rising near the edge of the glass. The smell had light spices such as cinnamon, clove, and toasted malt, some really super light dark fruits that come out as it warms a little. The taste was sweet yet spicey yet soft all around through previously mentioned flavors. On the palate, it sat about a medium, soft carbonation on the tongue, sessionable, quick slightly spicey aftertaste and watery finish. Overall, so Shipyard makes a decent winter warmer, check, I’ll come back to this if I ever get the chance to.

Very thin brown head. Colour of a bitter. Slightly malty aroma. Not terribly full flavour.

Dark brownish-amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing. Malt, caramel, spice and fruit in the nose. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, earthy hops and spiced fruit. The finish is fruity with a banana and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Dark brown pour with thin tan top that fades to a ring. Aroma of cooked sugar, dark bread, and a slightly spicy booze. Flavor is very similar and that’s a good thing. Semisweet, malty with a fairly clean, semi-dry finish. Never bitter, and as most other reviewers have mentioned, most importantly none of the flavor is overdone. Very enjoyable.

Cerveja gostosa com aroma frutado... sabor amadeirado e seco. Baixo amargor. Dizem ser o melhor rótulo da Shipyard. Essa é a primeira que experimento da marca. Vale a pena!

Pours a deep golden amber color. Aromas of caramel, fruit, and a touch of yeast. Flavors of light fruit, malts, and a nice touch of hops.

Drank from a pint glass at Nik’s Wunderbar in Whitehouse, NJ. Pours beautiful color, with nice head. Nice aroma, not a great taste.

355ml twist off. This is a nice one actually. Buttery toffee notes, big English yeast character. Mellow booze despite the abv. Bit too buttery but it’s drinkable.

kaser (6430) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 31, 2015
Dark orange with white head. Sample pour at Shipyard in Portland, Maine. Every beer here I've had is gross. Tastes like someone mowed the lawn and fed me the grass
