"Pugsley’s Signature Series is named after Shipyard Brewing Company’s master brewer, Alan Pugsley.”

A big bodied beer with a light coppery orange color and pleasing aroma of pumpkin and nutmeg. Pale Ale, Wheat and Light Munich malts combine with the natural tannin in pumpkin and the delicate spiciness of Saphir and Hallertau Hops to balance the sweetness of the fruit. To fully experience all the flavors, this beer is best enjoyed at 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Light foam that dissipates very quickly to a ring around the edge. The color is a wonderful crystal clear orange. One of the best looking pumpkin ales I’ve seen. Nice scent. Prominent pumpkin and spice. Slightly sweet. The smell is mostly gone after a few minutes. The taste is primarily pumpkin and spice. Somewhat bitter but I can’t tell if it’s hops or the spices. The mouth feel is unusually light for a 9% beer. It drinks almost like a soda. No noticeable alcohol taste. Overall this is a good pumpkin ale but not as good as I expected. Does not stand out in the crowd. The light mouth feel is unusual. **The label is very cool. It alone is enough to convince me to buy it. Very nice work.

Pours a luminous copper with a fluffy white head that dissipates to a thin layer. Aromas of pumpkin, spice, toffee and a bit of fruit. Flavors are toffee, spice, fresh bread, pumpkin, and sweet fruit. Finishes with earthy hops. Lively mouthfeel with a peppery finish. Very nice.

ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - NOV 9, 2016
22oz bottle and on tap at SLL tasting. Pours a deep bronze color with orange hues and a 1/2 inch white head. Smells of pumpkin and subtle spices. Taste is vegetal pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, light malts, and some alcohol on the finish. Feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Tap IPH. Pale. Sweet volatile barley wine aroma. Taste is not as strong as barley wine but its gitten there. Pumpk in the background. Not over the top in the spice arena. Fairly well balanced for the alky content. Civilized at times. Warming sensations down the gullet on the finish. Not bad for a higer alky beer.

tightslice (1383) - Redwood City, California, USA - OCT 7, 2016
Bottle from BevMo! in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is pumpkin liqueur, halloween punch, nutmeg, cinnamon. Taste is sweet and spiced...very artificial, thin and syrupy. Maybe some kind of latte syrup flavoring. Very disappointing.

Amber / orange pour. Aroma of malt with ginger, and a hint of pumpkin pie. This beer was like an old ale or imperial red ale or some such thing, but with notes of various pumpkin pie spices - allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg - that come through at different times. Some hop flavor, mild bitterness and alcohol warmth. For a pumpkin ale, this may be my favorite since it does not taste like an overly sweet piece of pumpkin pie. Very good.

oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 9, 2016
Pours a clear golden amber. Aromas of all spice, nutmeg, a touch of pumpkin. Nice spicy taste with pumpkin notes.

wlajwl (6950) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - APR 22, 2016
Aroma is pumpkin, spices, fruit/floral and mild oxidation. The flavor is pumpkin/yams, fruit, medium sweetness, malts and a mix of slight tartness, sour, heat and acidity in the finish.

dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 2, 2016
Bottle pours deep orange/amber with a frothy eggshell head. Aroma is sweet and spicy with notes of cinnamon, clove, toasted caramel, pumpkin, and gingerbread. Flavor displays baking spice, pumpkin flesh, carrot and definite alcohol presence. Overall body is moderate and the finish is somewhat boozy.

Sledutah (7762) - Utah, USA - DEC 24, 2015
22oz bottle from the state store
Pours clear amber with a small off-white head, no lacing. Aroma of pumpkin, spices and citrus. Taste of pumpkin, cloves, Bready and some alcohols
A pretty good pumpkin beer

asedzie (831) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 8, 2015
Bottle. Deep amber. Nose is caramel, grain, marshmallow, spice. Flavor is a bit raw and hot upfront - fruity esters in the back. Very strong alcohol notes in this bottle, but still pumpkin notes predominate.
