0.65 l bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2009. Hazy amber color. Sweet and juicy hop aroma with mango, apricot and lemon. Sweetish firmly bitter flavor with toffeish malt and fruity hops featuring mango, apricot and lemon. Fairly thick body, not very drinkable. I would prefer this dryer.

Pours dark orangish color with off white head. Aromas of citrus hops, alcohol and some caramel malts. Citrus flavor with sweet caramel malts and a good dose of alcohol. Medium body with average carbonation. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 22, 2009
bottle at Ft Wayne tasting - Pours copper and has a big citrus hop aroma. There’s some good malt backbone lending some sweetness to the flavor and of course the citrus hops are in the forefront. It’s a straightforward imperial IPA and pretty well done. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 20, 2009
Bomber thanks to Marc! Poured hazy medium orange with a short, thicker cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up warm orange meat and caramel sweetness accented by peppery notes, orange zest, and a touch of pine.. warmth brought out honey on the back.. quite juicy and enticing. The flavor was nearly as juicy, rocking honey, bready notes, and oranges at the core.. black peppery alcohol, pine resin, and floral bitterness around.. finished with lots of orange character (both sweetness and bitter zest) and warmth. Heavier-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. balance was solid, just skewed a little bit toward sweetness in the middle and sharpness at the back.. quite well done overall Skubic448 (10) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 19, 2009
From bottle in pint glass.
Aroma: Clean, Citrusy and Cascade hops.
Appearance: Clear and copper. Extremely thin head that leaves lots of tiny bubbles on the side of the pint glass.
Flavor: Definitely 9.25% ABV. Massive. Taste like orange/grapefruit and pine sap. Sticks with you for a while.
Palate: Alcoholic. Tears the enamel off your teeth and the moisture off your tongue.
Overall: Not a bad IPA, quite unusual. More citrusy and alcoholic, but I had no trouble drinking it.

Bottle at LCRBM 5 at Kulminator. Clear orange, lasting beige head. Bit boozy, some decent hops, bit burnt and toasty in the flavour. OK. Plovmand (8352) - Helsinge, DENMARK - OCT 17, 2009
Bottle. Clear amber witha medium off white head. Lots of malty caramel in aroma with some piney and fruity hop notes. In the flavour the caramel is dominating but have a nice punch of hops to match it. Not too bitter. Easy to drink and enjoy. travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 12, 2009
Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The look is copper colored with an off white head. The smell is caramel, desserty, hops, and earth. The taste is alcohol, pine, caramel, and hops. WISEGUY572 (1377) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 5, 2009
Best from Shipyard so far. Huge nose of hops and sweet malts. Clear golden body, large white head (some wheat?), great lacing. No need for balance, just solid sweet malt background, grapefruit, pine, resin, and bitterness. Bitter finish, and surprisingly dry given the sweetness of the initial malt experience.
