Bottle shared by Blipp at tasting at my house. Pours tan brown with off white head. Nose and taste of fake chocolate, light spices, banana and wheat malt. Medium to medium/light body.

Bottle at James’ place for a tasting. Pours a lightly hazed amber brown with a thin white head. Soft spices and a touch of yeast on the nose. Medium bodied, burnt spices, a touch of warming alcohol. Spicy on the finish, a bit of burnt spices and an earthy bitterness.

This is one of the better Shock Top beers, a pleasant surprise, and one that I would even drink again. Dark cloudy copper color, foamy head, though somewhat brief, minimal lacing. Nose hints at chocolate and chilis with a hint of the citrus zest typical of wheat beers. Flavor similar, with chili just giving a hint of smoke and tingle, no real heat, but its there. Whatever other spice is present is indistinct. Overall profile is semi-sweet, balanced, medium feel.

From a bottle poured a brown color with a fair amount of head. Sweet malty flavor with a quick finish.

Hazy dark copper pour with a thin white head. Decent lacing. Aroma is a little roast and caramel. Taste is some roast and wheat with some bitterness but pretty thin.

12 oz bottle pours brown with a off white head. Aroma of grains, malts and spice. Taste is the malts and only a hint of the Chili's . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium brown in color with a nice, tan, long lasting head. Minimal aroma. It has a medium-strong bitter taste that eases somewhat on the palate with a hint of spice.

Bottle. Pours a dirty brown with an ugly tan head. Aroma is caramel and malt. The taste is a sort of soggy chocolate and wheat. Finish has a bit of spice to it. I don’t know what it is, but something is a bit off with this...everything tastes a bit sickly and I don’t think I’d grab another bottle of this again. 6% alcohol.

12oz twist-off bottle. Pours cloudy brown, off-white head. Aroma of banana and chili. Hints of chocolate malt. Taste of an odd spice, very little chili, a nice presence of chocolate, mostly wheat flavor. Finishes with a little tingle way way back in the back of my throat. On of the better Shock Tops. (3512). Here’s to the end of the Republic...
