Pour from a 12oz bottle. Cloudy dark amber/brown brew with small head. Aroma of chocolate and peppers. Taste follows aroma - a little chocolate at the start and pepper in the finish, not a whole lot in between. Average palate. OK but hits me as rather unpleasant. Patrickctenchi (6591) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Pours cloudy wood-brown with a small, off-white head.
Scent is light, toasted breadheel....wheat.
Taste is malt, bread, dark caramel.
It’s ok....Better than most shock top offerings. GnarlyGnome (770) - Fairfield, Ohio, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Tap: not nearly as good as it sounds from the description. That isn’t to say that it’s bad, though... Solid, fun beer. DMLINAZ (332) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - JAN 6, 2013
Inoffensive, though not especially flavorful, especially given the somewhat dramatic description on the bottle. Hints of chocolate, some malts, slight spices; slightly fizzy, like a lot of Shock Tops. Not much aroma; slight chocolate. The only Shock Top I’ve liked so far is the raspberry wheat, and I think I’ve had almost all of them. This "end of the world" isn’t bad, but at best is middle-of-the-road. dallam1 (7) - Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 22, 2013 does not count
Not bad. Dark amber in color, smooth drink. There is a bit of spice heat aftertaste. Not a very thick beer.. Medium consistency. Small hint of chocolate.

How could I pass up a $2.99 sixer? Pours a dark brownish amber with a decent thick head and lacing, actually doesn’t look all that bad, aroma has a little bit of spice with a tad bit of chocolate, seems pretty artificial so far, the flavor is pretty weird, kind of fruity on the front end with a slight finish of chocolate and malt, won’t be picking this up again, will maybe if it gets down to .99$ a sixer. mikesaum (711) - Newark, Ohio, USA - OCT 23, 2012
Normally I wouldn’t ever reach for any kind of shock top but this time they fooled me into it. Pours a dark amber color with a white head that dies crazy fast. Aroma is weak chocolate and spice, a bit of fruitiness. Taste is sort of dunkel with a small chili hint in the back of thhe throat, lame brew from shock top, damn them and their trickery. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2012
Bottle from Kroger. Medium pour with an off-white head. Aroma is musty grain and brown sugar. Taste is metal, raisins, and ugh.

Much lighter color than expected. I do enjoy the chili notes. But overall very weak flavor. Smells like bud light with chile powder added at shipping.

Bottle. Roasty wheat, dusty cocoa... extremely light aroma. Murky dark amber with a moderate beige head, light lacing. Sweet roasty malt, spice, and extremely subtle hop flavor. Medium body, light carbonation. Flavors are light and disharmonious.
