UPDATED: FEB 16, 2015 Bottle: Pale straw with some lighter gold highlights; unfiltered haze, nearly opaque in the center. Fizzling, wispy white head is gone in seconds. Aroma is tart green apples, sweet apples, apple candy, sugar... you get the point. Smells more like hard cider, really. Candied apple explosion, and not much else. Taste isn’t packed like the aroma... actually kind of thin and watered down. Little bit of wheat, crisp green apple skins, mild tartness but far from sour. Sweet and dry in the finish, but not overtly sweet, which is good. Aftertaste of light wheat and apple. Almost like Apple Jack’s cereal residue. Actually not awful, possibly my favorite Shock Top to date (not saying much, though). toml219 (284) - California, USA - SEP 30, 2013
Pours hazy yellow with quick disappearing head. Smell of apple cider. Taste is of fake apple flavor not very pleasant. Defiantly smells better than it tastes. deyholla (12253) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Bottle. Pours a hazy light gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a note of sweet apple with an underlying earthy wheat note. Flavor starts with very sweet but light apple and is balanced slightly by the earthy wheat in the finish. Roonai (319) - - SEP 26, 2013
bottle. pours clean clear yellow with a white head that disappears fast. nose is loads of apple, yeast, citrus, 100% like a sour apple jolly rancher. taste is like a jolly rancher soaked in a coors. sweet, slight tang and the base of a wheat yeast. weird combo of cider and lager tasting beer. as a girly girl- i like it a lot. if i were a manly man.... probs would scoff at it. thornecb (6060) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 23, 2013
Pours slightly hazed light gold into a shaker. Bright white head crackles and recedes to hug rim. Sweet apple and cinnamon aromas. Dry and sharp with rancid apple and banana front to back. Lasting rotten banana finish.

This one I was a little excited for. I have had a honey-crisp apple before so the thought it being in a beer was something new. The smell is the first you notice. This beer is very aromatic and I was would highly suggest drinking this in a glass with a wide top lid so maximize on the scent. Now with that said the smell is very very sweet and I immediately thought of a Woodchuck cider which are too sweet for me. The taste luckily is not near as sweet as a Woodchuck but is sweet especially for a beer. There is an apple aftertaste that is distinctive which is nice because most specialty beers lose the flavor of the very thing that they are meant to taste like. Now with all the good sides across I did it a little sweet and cidery for me. To call this a beer is true but I think it could easily be mistaken for a dry cider. So I would call this one a beer for cider lovers or at least a starting point for them. bbbeer (878) - Massachusetts, USA - SEP 9, 2013
Pale golden. Small white head. Pretty nice apple aroma. Light body with carbonation. The taste is not that exciting. Some wheat, some apple, faintly sweet. It’s not really that bad but not sure what the point of it is, rather just have a cider. Ed5388 (3488) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - SEP 7, 2013
12oz bottle. Pours a clear light yellow color with a thick foamy white head. Aroma of apple juice, ginger, sprite, and wheat. Taste is a mix of fresh apples and artificial apple drink, with cinnamon, ginger, honey, and wheat. roxtersoxter (358) - McKinney, Texas, USA - SEP 4, 2013
Pours hazy gold with large carbonated white head out of bottle. Very good apple smell but taste isn't that great. Dull apple wheat taste. Not a great beer.
