Pours yellow with a slightly unpleasant brownish tinge, cloudy, head sucks. Nose is apple. Red Delicious apple with some tartness which I suppose is the Honeycrisp "natural flavor". It smells like unfermented raw cider. Watery palate. Flavor incredibly sweet. No Belgian overtones, but regular Shock Top doesn’t have them either so why would this? Blech. slowrunner77 (13171) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 18, 2014
"Based on the aroma alone, which is an explosion of juicy apple and a little spice, this is easily the best Shock Top to date. Faint praise, perhaps, but still... The body and look are typically light and effervescent. The flavor is nice, though not as good as the aroma. Not much depth, but not bad either." i think most of my rgular followers kno’s me afinity for swill, but even i have standards. right out of the xan. big sour apple nose. taste is 100% jolly rancher sour apple, with out the sour. cloying, drain pour. Tessic (1249) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 16, 2014
Poured a light yellow colour with no head and a bit cloudy. Scents include Granny Smaith apples, pie and cider. Flavour was of light hopps and apples. Finish is apples. rondphoto (4508) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - SEP 12, 2014
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Cloudy light amber with a 1/2" persistent white head, small waves of lace Taste is sweet crisp fresh apple with maybe a little malt thrown in that stays sticky sweet all the way through the finish. I guess it’s okay, but it seems far away from an actual beer

Picked this up for 1.69 a can poured into a frosted mug. Golden yellow with thin head. Smell of apples and beer. Taste the same, not as much of a cider taste, like Johhny Apple Seed or Red’s. It says honey but I don’t taste it but kind of pick up cinnamon and nutmeg. For a price of 2 for 3$ 16 oz cans two houses down from my front door this is a like a sore penis...you can’t beat it!! I don’t think this is seasonal so I hit pay dirt on this one! Reid (2672) - Salem, Oregon, USA - SEP 7, 2014
Desperate in this humid oppressive heat( for Oregon) and sick of cider I snatched this like a sailor does his rum.
$1.99 for 16 oz single from a Circle K store.
Pours an admittedly attractive cloudy gold with a nice sized frothy /creamy white head.
’Unfortunatly the aroma is not so attractive. Totally artificial tooth rotting Jolly rancher aromas.
Taste is not so bad but its still Jolly Rancher but the wheat is strong in this and tones the ultra sweet down. Making the taste tolerable.
MOuthfeel is OK until the end when the sickening Jolly Rancher ( the trade mark should have been on the can) just gets sticky icky.
THink I will stick with cider next time. kdm1984 (814) - Missouri, USA - SEP 6, 2014
Sampled at Joplin Macadoodles tasting today. Not too impressed with this one: very artificial aroma and flavor, and the flavor doesn’t last long. As a fan of real honeycrisp apples, this was a letdown. Then again, it’s Shock Top, so it’s not like I had very high expectations... alobar (3966) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 23, 2014
Pours a maize shade of yellow with a white head. Aroma of sour apple with hint of wheat. Powerful artificial green apple flavor with some grain. Decent. Darkmagus82 (2303) - - AUG 22, 2014

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a hazy golden-yellow colored brew with big billowy white head. The head fades very fast to leave only a very light level of lacing.
Smell – Wow… the aroma on this one is huge. You can smell it as soon as you open the bottle. It is massive of a tart green apple aroma mixed with some candy sweet smells. With these sweet aromas is a very light wheat and yeast smell as well. It smells very much like a sour apple jolly rancher candy.
Taste – The taste starts out with a big sweet hard cider flavor mixed with some wheat flavors. As the taste advances the wheat flavors dwindle while a yeast taste comes to the tongue. While the sweet hard cider flavor remains throughout the taste it takes on more notes of a sour nature more toward the end of the taste. This more green apple like hard cider taste takes the taste to its end where it meets with some candy sugar sweetness to leave a sweet and sour (mainly sweet) apple flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thin in terms of its creaminess with a carbonation level that is average to just above average. The thinner body and medium to higher carbonation are very appropriate for the hard cider like characteristics of this brew.
Overall- This is more cider like in nature then beer like. It is sweet and apple heavy in flavor with light hints of wheat and yeast. If you are looking for something cider like then this is not a bad go to.
