Darker amber, slight haze, no head. Has a lot of bubblegum on the nose, light esters. A little bitterness up front, but then chewy sweet malt. Wombata (625) - Kobe, JAPAN - AUG 28, 2015
Aroma: Mikan rind, yeast.
Flavor: Dry mikan, rind, yeast, bitter grassy hop, long moderately bitter rind and hop finish. biirusaikou (2705) - - JUL 5, 2015
Draught at Vector Factory. Lovely tropical/herbal hop bouquet, orange peel, peppermint, wild honey, long bitter finish. Good stuff, quite rich and complex, hoppier than the Swan Lake B-IPA but both are quite yummy. willisread (3349) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 5, 2015
On tap at CBM Koenji. Pours a deep golden color with a nice soapy medium-sized head. Aroma is very saison like nice yeast and spice with a large chunk of tropical and stone fruit as well. Average carbonation with a medium body. Taste is more of the same with the fruit melding with the yeast perfectly. This is like saison on steroids. The finish is bitter and lingers but as it warms up the yeast and fruit notes really put on a show. A nice and complex IPA! Great stuff! GenkiGonzo (1092) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 17, 2015
Draught at Bungalow. Clear, pale gold with decent lacing. Aroma is all Belgian. Flavour has some nice hops to go with it.

Big fan of this. Nice biscuity malt body, slightly phenolic, though more accentuating than overpowering. Crisp, spicy hoping. Full bodied. Excellent. shoulderbroken (4255) - Tokyo, JAPAN - APR 28, 2013
UPDATED: APR 20, 2014 Tap at the Watering Hole. Golden colour, clear, small off-white head, aroma is fruity, Belgian yeasty. Taste is nice and fruity, strawberry, bit tropical, bit of citrus too. Nice.
Rerate 4/14 Deep heat, herbal, fruity, but interesting. Herbal saison like element. Unusual and I like it. Lots of deep heat!

My Bottom Line:KansaiBeerLvrs (5153) - Kyoto, JAPAN - APR 11, 2013
This crisp Belgian-style brew benefits from some peppery hops and their herbal bitterness to balance out the fruity fermentation character.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam laces atop the lazy pale golden.
-This is not intense enough in the hop department to be called any sort of ‘IPA’.
-Fruitiness is reminiscent of peaches at times.
-The herbal hop bitterness is enough to create balance, but there isn’t much interest generated by it.
On tap at Molto!.
On tap at Beer Stand Molto. It poured a clear orange-gold with a white head. A nice citrus aroma wafted from the glass but was easy to drink. Quite bitter with a hint of spice at first. As it warmed up you could see more of the Belgian influence(possibly they used a Belgian yest strain?) which made it zesty, spicy and kind of sour with a bite to it. It had a really nice body and mouthfeel. An interesting beer worth trying out. This is the second nice Shonan Beer I’ve had recently...
