2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
6 pack of 16oz cans from Fresh N Easy in the San Jose/Silicon Armpit area. $7.99 for a 6’er of 6.7% tall-boys will make the end of the day go down AOK. The beer isn’t spectacular, but it’s not bad either. Typical contract brewed stuff from Wisconsin. It looks, smells and tastes like an IPA. I didn’t expect much more. I’d buy it again. Not nerding out on the beers tonight, just wanted some freshies to kill time in the hotel room before I call it a night.
Slightly hazy orange and amber coloured body with a light, fast-dying tan head, only about a centimetre tall. Aroma of malt, cardboard, light fruits and a touch of hops. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong cardboard and funky malt flavours at first with a little hop note and some subdued sweetness from fruit and toffee. Aftertaste isn’t too strong, but defintely has some english hops, a touch of caramel malt and some light apricot flavours as well - not as bad as I expected. Overall, a surprisingly decent beer (given the fact it’s from Wisconsin and says ’Shore Break’,but not the worst beer I could imagine, with some flavour and a decent complexity at the end. Scary, but this is surprisingly drinkable and at a good price point to be worthy, at least here in Waikiki. I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased next door at Whaler’s on Lewers Street in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii a few minutes ago for only US$1,69, sampled upstairs in my hotel room on 28-December-2015. Aroma is roasty malts, honey, caramel and light candy sugar. Taste is rich malts with light apple. Finishes with slight liquor snap. Appearance is a hazy orange with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well. surferjoe13 (2) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - SEP 3, 2015 does not count
Bought this beer in Hawaii, like a recent reviewer. Before I bought it I checked and saw it was made in Wisconsin. But hey, they can make beer there...PBR and Schlitz! Tasted so bad went back to store and got a Torpedo 6 pack. Gave the other 5 cans to my next door neighbor. Tasted more like a bad batch of Sam Adams Boston Lager than an IPA. Found this in Hawaii, "Shore Break" with a picture of a guy carrying a surfboard. Must be a new local brew I think to myself as I grab the sixer of tall boys for $10.99. I notice later, after I get home "Brewed in Monroe, WI", so much for "new local brew", lesson learned! Orange hues with a short lived, creamy beige head. Sweet malt, (DME?) not much of the IPA hop scent I’d expect. Rather bland, sweet but some bitterness in the end. Boring for an IPA. Disappointing for a beer marketed as "quality craft beer" India Pale Ale. Tastes more malty than hoppy. Aftertaste is slightly sour. Adding a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime improves the taste. Price dropped from 14 bucks for six cans to $12. Dirt cheap for beer in these parts. Unfortunately, you barely get what you pay for.

473ml Can, 6.7%. Steal for 6 tall boys at Depot for like $13. Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with hoppy overtones, Cascade grapefruit, citrusy, toasted malt. Taste is more of the same, dry hops and roast malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Normally I rip on Minhas pretty hard, but this is crushable and nicely hopped and priced right. pintbypint (3641) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 23, 2013
473ml can. Gold pour, clear. Fluffy white cap with some ok lacing.. Nose has caramel malts and a light whiff of citrus/orange. Taste has some sweet caramel up front, orange peels, bit of fruitiness. Light bitterness, bit of orange peel hop in the aftertaste. Pretty average and about what I expected from this brewer. vvesside (256) - California, USA - MAY 13, 2013
My friend had a six pack of 16oz cans. Really not a bad beer at all but doesn’t taste like an IPA at all to me. Hops are barely there and a huge malt taste. Pretty good tho mjg74 (3106) - La Mesa, California, USA - JAN 17, 2013
Can from Fresh & Easy. Nose is grain and a little bit of hoppiness. Flavor is spiced dry hops and a little bit of burning. Quaffable in the realm of cheap IPAs. SDalkoholic (2393) - Linda Vista, California, USA - JAN 7, 2013
16 oz. aluminum can from Fresh and Easy: Not much going on in the nose except for a faint whiff of honey oat bread with weak hints of perfume like hops. The drink has a heavy body which I like and the alcohol is masked fairly well but there is an undeniable sweetness due to the malts used that drown out any chance of the hops in this IPA. Good deal for a six pack and considering these are tall boy cans.
