Draft. Bright orange malt and orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Moderately sweet orange malt and moderately bitter grapefruit peel flavor. Good body. b3shine (9153) - Indiana, USA - AUG 12, 2014
Draft to taster at Shoreline. This is listed in their board as an APA, not an IPA. Looks good; a slightly hazy pale apricot with foamy off-white head. Smells of very mild Citra hops. Tastes like it smells with a smooth medium-bodied mouthfeel. Not bad, but I’m not sure how old this beer is; the hop profile seems faded. valpoaj (755) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - JUL 19, 2013
Draft pour at brewery - orangey-brown body with a relatively thin white head. Aroma is pleasant - lots of citrus hops, tropical fruit, hint of grass, and a bit of maltiness lingering in the background. Flavor is clean and pretty good as well...the citra hops dominate (not a bad thing in my book), hint of a grassy/floral note in the flavor, some caramel malt in the background... Palate is medium bodied and appropriate for the style. Amazing...no, but this is a solid rendition of a style with a hop varietal that I am a fan of - tasty. duke971 (4) - USA - FEB 5, 2013 does not count
Did not care for at all. Very bitter with a shallow body and an acrid mouth feel. acidic and tart without a nice finish. sorry. Travlr (26131) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 19, 2012
Draft at the source. Nice floral and citrus aroma. Taste has tons of citrus, grapefruit, pineapple. Nice.

On tap at shoreline in Michigan City. This was a simple and refreshing ipa with good, mellow citrus undertones. Decent pour, with a pillowy, clumpy starch white head, and opaque bright cantaloupe orange color. Light and refreshing describes the nose. Notes of grassy lemon, caramel, and pale cereal malts. The body is mellow and average bitter for the style. Basic flavors of grass, mixed citrus, melon fruit, and caramel. Overall, a basic, but nice ipa. Draft at Great Taste. Finally, a tolerable one from Shoreline. Pours a nice hazy gold with a sticky white head. Nose is big and catty, lots of tropical citra notes and a hint of caramel. On tasting, it’s not seamless, it’s got a bit of roughness that stretches it out. More of that citrusy and tropical fruitiness. Decent malt character but perhaps a bit overbittered? Okay. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 24, 2011
Shoreline exponential. Growler brought back home from Michigan city...
Pours a mostly transparent apple cider orangey hue with a thin film of
off-white head... Aroma of assertive grassy and citrus focused hops.
Pretty clean... Flavors are grassy crisp with a nice citrus hopped
forwardness. Just short of medium bodied with a green grassy finish.

I stopped through the brewpub for a growler while out on vacation and found this was the best of the few samples I tried so I got it. It’s a darn fine IPA and, just for comparison, I stopped through Three Floyds the next day and they had nothing this good on tap so I suppose that is fairly high praise around these parts. It’s a nice, piny, earthy kind of IPA. Normally, I prefer IPAs w/ brighter citrus character but this was so well done I really liked it regardless. It is well built from top to bottom and very drinkable. It is perhaps unexceptional for the style but a very good example. The locals I chatted w/ briefly recommended this highly and it’s already earned itself the nickname of "Expo" which I suppose is already taken by a certain Michigan brewed imperial stout but I do hope to see it again next time I’m through the area.
