Poured from bottle to pint glass. Very hoppy aroma. Hazy golden copper pour. Floral hop flavor with pairings of what must be guava. Having never had it personally, I’d describe it as tropical citrus fruits. This beer is so so good. Very ideal IPA, nice change of pace from the norm. Left a fair amount of lacing on the glass as I drank. Delicious hoppy finish. Outstanding beer. Anyone IPA lover that does not like fruit in their beer should absolutely pick this up, you won’t be disappointed. rumproasts (5340) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 6, 2012
copper colored, average head. the idea of a guava IPA sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, but this turned out fabulous. wonderfully hoppy with the guava sweetness. one of the most flavorful beers i have had in a long time. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JAN 25, 2011
Picked this up while in Kalamazoo. Pours orange and hazy with a very small frothy head. Aroma is tropical fruits but not like simcoe, citrusy hops, citrus zest and tingling spices and maybe some green peppercorns. Taste is dry through and through with nice fruit and citrus hop flavors. bitterness is mild. Very nice and balanced. Great! Spacepuppy (2) - - APR 19, 2012 does not count
pleasant aroma, you can smell hints of the guava and a nic floral note. The beer pours a ever so slightly hazy light orange/bronze color with 1 finger of white head. I would have thought from the smell that the guava would be more prominent but while it is definatly there I am finding more citrusy grapfruit, orange and pineapple flavors from the hops I would assume since it does have a substantial bitterness but is balanced nicely with a malty sweetness and the guava. This beer has substantial carbonation and medium body. Overall I think this is fantastic stuff, I must say I am NOT a fruit in my beer kind of guy and I was very skeptical of this beer even at the beer store I thought about putting it back on the shelf but I am glad I diddnt. The guava really works wel in this type of beer and I will have to go back and pick up some more since like many Shorts beer this is of limited production.
Pick this one up if you see it! milewide (2217) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JAN 27, 2011
Unique IPA! Tangy fruit aroma and taste. Hops are not lost. Slightly cloudy amber color. Medium head.

Pours a pale bronze with a foamy white head. Aroma is lots of guava and some fruity/floral hops. Flavor is floral hops and guava fruit, which lends a dry bitter taste. The guava adds a nice character to the beer. Very well done. JFowler (32) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUN 6, 2015
This is a great example of what I like to term a grassy IPA. Golden hue minimal lacing. This particular sampling was a bit warmer than I have had in the past. Had this on draft in the 25oz. Size. Because of the boomba glass couldn’t smell it like i could in a true IPA glass although the taste is very unique. Had this first at Hopcat in Ann Arbor in a flight against some heavy contenders like Stone Delicious and a few others. This beer blew those away. Although I am not a big fan of most of The Short’s beers this one really takes the cake. The super clean fruity light pine flavor is fronted with a super grassy punch that most medium bodied IPA’s just can’t muster. A must try for any true Hophead!

Pours a darker golden, slight haze, with a good-sized eggshell head that settles after a while and leaves some ropey, spotty lace. Nose involves really pungent and immediate tropical fruit. I haven’t experienced guava first hand to my recollection, so the aroma must be unmistakably guava. There are also some nice dank, piney, resiny hop notes under there, but it’s mostly just zesty, vibrant, eye-opening fruit. Some sweetness, quite bitter, some slight juicy tartness. Light to medium bodied, pretty active, bright on the palate with juiciness and bitterness, finishing dry and refreshing. A really cool beer that I’m so glad found its way to Indiana. walleye (1099) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - JAN 2, 2011
From the bottle. poured a nice hazy amber orange, with a nice big khaki head that left some nice lacing. Aroma sweet citrus pine, sweet grapefruit tropical fruits, flavor the same. I like shorts beer but this one made me a bigger fan. This was a WOW beer for me McGrupp612 (140) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 3, 2012
Bottle. Gold with a fluffy white head. Nose is citrus, guava and mixed tropical fruit. Flavor follows. Strong bitterness plays nicely with tart guava, sweet malts and earthy hops. Medium bodied, perfect carbonation. This was excellent!
