Had this at the 2012 Great American Beer Fest in Denver, Colorado. Nice hop scents, flavor is big time pine, big bite. Mittenator (1612) - Michigan, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Bottle to dogfish head IPA glass. Light gold with a slight haze and a frothy off-white head. Spicy hops, orange and a slight skunk in the aroma. Piney upfront and finishes with some biscuit and grains. Really spicy. Nice and light. dalekliz (923) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Bottle. Pours a hazy dark gold with a bug foamy white head that lingers. Citrus aroma, of orange zest, hops, and a hint of grapefruit. Taste is bitter and smooth, starts a bit floral and orangey, then picks up a big hoppy bitterness and bready yeast, with some creamier malt and sugar. Lingering bitterness. Nice IPA. bpar73 (1165) - Bellaire, Michigan, USA - MAY 31, 2013
On tap at the brewpub.. Pours yellow-gold with white head. Citrus, pine and hops in the aroma and taste with a nice bitter finish. Another nice solid beer from Joe. Silphium (3199) - Traverse City, Michigan, USA - JUN 8, 2013
Draft at the brewpub, Bellaire. Murky, dirty orange-brown body, medium clumping cream head. Nose of grapefruit rind. Body of strong pink grapefruit rind with a light toasty malt backdrop, crisp, refreshing, and punchy. Very good.

Bottle to pint (thanks mikem409). Looks good for the style; a transparent orange with foamy white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; hoppy with a lagerish backbone (and a bit of dough). Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Enjoyable. Tmoney99 (14755) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 10, 2013
Draft sample at MBGSF 2013. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus and earthy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - MAY 1, 2014
Bottle: Slightly hazy, golden-amber color with some burnt orange, capped with a bib-bubbled, soapy white foam. Jolt of heavy citrus peel & pine on the nose; subtle pineapple, grapefruit, pine needles, orange zest, white pepper, & brash hop oils. Battle of pine-y versus citric hops. No standout malt or yeast aroma to indicate that this is, in fact, a lager. This little fucker is deceivingly bitter, very brash & abrasive but in a quite dry & admirable way. Assertive pine, oil, faint ash, herbal white pepper, grapefruit rind & pineapple skin remnants. Bottle says "orange rind" & I definitely get orange in the back-end, but I get some of the juicy flesh flavor along with the rind. Thin bodied, perhaps a touch watery but carbonated nicely. Clean finish, aftertaste coating of orange, grapefruit, & lemon, *almost* like leftover Fruity Pebbles. Very nice little bugger, here, but I really don’t get any explicit lager qualities, save for the exceptionally clean finish. flatmatt (1593) - Northville, Michigan, USA - OCT 25, 2014
12 oz bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy golden with a white head. Citrusy orange aroma with a slightly candylike quality, a bit herbal. Herbal hoppiness with pine and citrus, crisp palate. More citrus peel creeps up over time. A pretty good one. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 17, 2014
12oz bottle, big thanks to umich03jm. Date on the bottle reads 9/24/14. Totally hazy orange color. Thin off-white head. Decent ridges of lace. Light to medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation, light soft, with a lightly slick finish. Big orange peel, zesty flavor, kind of spicy. Moderate bitter taste, lighter sweet. Pretty assertively hoppy, big citrus and spicy hop notes. Towards the end, good grassy and herbal hop flavor comes out. The flavor of a 7% IPA, impressive to pull off at just 4.5%. And the fact that it’s technically a lager is pretty sneaky too, I would have never guessed... Very well executed! With the orange peel and spicy hop, honestly it drinks kind of like a white IPA, which I don’t entirely mind in this instance. Coincidentally, I happen to have a white IPA from Shorts in the fridge right now. Probably what I’ll drink next!
