COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The hub of the village
Bellaire Brown is a full-flavored brown ale that derives sweet caramel and toasted qualities from four different kinds of malt and specialty grains. Select hop varieties create an enticing aroma and dry finish. Bellaire Brown is very dark and rich, which makes it hard to classify as a brown, but it is certainly considered a delicious masterpiece.

Bellaire Brown was originally created to appeal to people who enjoyed drinking coffee, and to beer drinkers who are not interested in hoppy options. When Joe Short was creating the Bellaire Brown recipe, he desired a beer that was meatier and burlier than most browns. Bellaire Brown is a great gate-way beer for drinkers to be introduced to darker beer varieties.

jinroh (2015) - ESTONIA - AUG 27, 2017
Dark amber, bit reddish. Nose has burnt sugar, caramel and hops. Flavour has also some more hops, nice bitterness painted on this caramelly nutty canvas. Great brown, liking this.

FatPhil (16689) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 21, 2017
355ml bottle (Baltic Broken Bus Beer Bash @ RBESG2017) (4:4:4:2:7=2.1)
Dark, tan head. Gravy (could be "grainy", writing on a moving bus is hard, but better than writing on a stationary bus, n’est pas?) aroma, savoury. Full palate. Stale coffee in the taste, sweet. Powdery finish. Pretty shitty brown ale.

3.3
Noodle (24) - Ohio, USA - AUG 5, 2017
Nice brown ale. Malty and sweet, with a hint of smokiness. Could use slightly more bitterness and head is weak, but still a good beer.

ganache (6013) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 23, 2017
UPDATED: JUN 27, 2017 RB says this is my US rating #3333. Bottle. Nose chocolate, bit of crystal, malty, touch nutty. Pour light brown, cloudy-opaque with a few tawny hints, head sudsy beige. Lightly crisp, very heavy body, bitterness medium but not intense at ll, semi-sweet and malty, lots of good brown malt and shades of roast, nuttiness, but no scorch or darker / harsher roasts. Heavy with obvious kick behind it (though alcohol extremely well integrated, as seems to be the general case with Short’s), mild fruitiness that I have to look for at times, and malt that’s occasionally flabby but usually deep. Bright, fresh, and somewhat unusual. Meaty indeed! [2017.06.23: 3.5]
