Bellaire Brown is a full-flavored brown ale that derives sweet caramel and toasted qualities from four different kinds of malt and specialty grains. Select hop varieties create an enticing aroma and dry finish. Bellaire Brown is very dark and rich, which makes it hard to classify as a brown, but it is certainly considered a delicious masterpiece.

Bellaire Brown was originally created to appeal to people who enjoyed drinking coffee, and to beer drinkers who are not interested in hoppy options. When Joe Short was creating the Bellaire Brown recipe, he desired a beer that was meatier and burlier than most browns. Bellaire Brown is a great gate-way beer for drinkers to be introduced to darker beer varieties.

[A] Not very big on the nose. Some powdered cocoa, and the European malt come through. [A] Brown beer. [F] Chocolate. Caramel. Some nuttiness. Light roast. Malty sweetness. About all. [P] Drinkable. I wouldn’t consider a 6 pack, though. Pretty average feel for a brown. [O] This was the last in my Short’s 4-pack sampler this evening. It was pretty boring compared to the others. Still a solid brown. And for $8, I might just grab the same 4 brews for the next session.

Medium but watery roasted malt smell...Exactly that on taste except a bit more mouthfeel than I thought it would have...light complexity of malt...No hops...So much like all the other beers I’ve had on this trip so far...At landfill course in Wisconsin!

12 oz. bottle at Queen City Radio. Pours a slightly browned amber, translucent, with a small off-white head that settles into a lasting ring. The first thing I noticed was a decent earthy hop presence here to go along with caramel, toasty, chocolaty, and slightly nutty malts. Light-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a malty, earthy mouthfeel. Good brown ale.

A hazy, reddish-brown pour with an off-white head. It has a sugary sweet bread and caramel aroma. The medium body has somewhat sticky texture and average carbonation. The taste is sweet with a smooth finish.

Aroma isn’t bad pretty much traditional brown ale. Flavor is more basic. Mostly medium dark malt and a hint of traditional brown ale characteristics and sweet.

Let syrlig, meget chokolade i smagen. Dejlig frisk i det, sammen med den lidt mere fyldige brown ale stil, er en rigtig fin blanding. Skulle der være noget negativt, så må det være at det syrlige er lidt for fremtrædende.

Draft. Pours dark brown with tan head that dissipates quickly; some lacing. Nose of bready malt, chocolate malt, and some caramel notes. Chocolate malt with caramel notes upfront. Some bitterness in the finish. Chocolatier than other brown ales. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can shared by Kyle at Final Gravity. Pours medium brown with a decent beige head and a roasted chocolate aroma. There is a medium-bodied roasted malt flavor with a dry slightly bitter finish.

Clear mahogany, light tan head. Molasses, vanilla. Allspice. Lightly bitter, quite a lot of malt sweetness. Light body, creamy. Long finish. Good.

Donker bruin met een crème kraag. Toffee met caramel en walnoten beetje cacao oo de achtergrond. Niet verkeerd
