3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Pours black, moderate to large frothy beige head, hints of cherry colors in the lacing thats left behind, and might I add it has very nice lacing.   Heavy roast and dark chocolate up front, a little coffee like
as well.   Cherry comes out a bit on the backside, but its a little subdued.   I expected it to be a bit more.   However, it has a fruity tartness that seems to me like unripened cherries.   Don’t know that I would call
this a Fruit Beer as its a pretty hefty Porter as is.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Its smooth, but also a little bubbley.   Backside has this bakers chocolate that is pretty strong, along with some deep rich chocolate
covered cherries.   Not as sweet as I expected, but still enjoyable.
Aromas of chocolate, coffee and sweet cherry.
Color is black with with a small tan head.
Taste is chocolate, sweet cherry and coffee. Starts dry but finishes both sweet and bitter.
Body is medium to full; oily to creamy texture; average carbonation; fairly long bittersweet cherry finish.
Overall a fairly good beer; for the most part the cherry flavors work reasonably well with the base porter, though the sweetness wears on you after a while. alexsdad06 (11223) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - SEP 24, 2017
12 oz bottle from backlog notes. Pours a dark brown color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, chocolate, black cherries, some earthy notes, this was more like I expected the Imperial version to be, that being said, it was decent but nothing to seek out again. Pours almost black with a frothy cappuccino head. Nose is roasted malt with cherry notes. Cherry comes out more in the taste. Somewhat sweet porter with a pleasant, slight more bitter finish that brings out some chocolate on the palate. Somewhat reminiscent of a dark chocolate covered cherry. Very nice. Bottle to snifter. Pours nearly black with minimal head. Mosebis dried cherries with light papery oxidation. Tate is lightly tart, cherry skin tannin and dark coffee acidity. Coupled with a thin but not watery mouthfeel. Beer feels a bit tired and worn, lack of CO2 doesn’t help it at all. Meh. partchapol (143) - Ohio, USA - FEB 4, 2017
Smell of cacao, malt, hop, coffee. Drink from bottle. Taste smooth of coffee, malt, hint of cherry. Almost full body, strong with bitterness and carbonate. Good porter for the price.

2015 bottle. Black pour with a cola head. Chocolate pudding, cherry cola, powdered cocoa, toasted malts, creamy and fairly smooth with an underdone of cherry pit that doesn’t overwhelm. Moderate carbonation and body, dry on finish and easy to drink. SG111 (2142) - New York, USA - OCT 16, 2016
Tap at Clubhouse BFD. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is lots of roasted malt, chocolate. Slight cherry but minimal in the nose. I would not be able to tell if not told. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malt, lots of tart black cherry. Wow, that’s prominent. Not bad! Well balanced. But a little sweet for me. I think they did a good job in what they were going for. arminjewell (9727) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - FEB 13, 2016
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark reddish black pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, caramel, roast, some slight fruity berry notes, hints of sweet sugars as well. Taste was a mix of berry, cherry, some dark fruit, cocoa, roast, touch of sugars, finishing sweet, slightly bitter. b3shine (9259) - Indiana, USA - DEC 27, 2015
Draft to taster. Looks good; a translucent darker cherry cola with. Foamy dark beige head. Smells malty with notes of cherry alongside mild chocolate and toast. Tastes like it smells with a fairly bitter medium-bodied mouthfeel. Some hops on the tongue as well. Solid, but a little cherry-forward for my preferences. chucklemation (1796) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - DEC 9, 2015
Pours a jet black with a thick, long-lasting tan head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, and subtle cherry. Flavor is roast, bitter chocolate, and just enough cherry to give it some character. Smooth body. Very enjoyable.
