The beer pours a murky brown ale with a light tan head that doesn’t provide much retention or good lacing. The aroma is a bitter apple, almost like a sour cider. The taste is very similar but is even more bitter without the sweetness of apple or caramel that you would be expecting so in that sense very disappointing.

murky brown pour with virtually no head..tap at hopcat..aroma of old apple and diacetyl.slight peppery addition. mostly muddled flavor. bland apple with barely and hints of caramel whatsoever. maybe they experimented with an apple ale and it became infected so they called it caramel apple, hoping the oxidation would give it a hint of that

On tap. Poured a near clear dark amber with an off white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma was full of tart apples with a bit of underlying cinnamon and caramel. Caramel and cinnamon are more apparent in the start of the beer with tart apple coming out in the finish.

MBG Winterfest 2010. Poured a hazy light brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Heavy tart apple cider aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy apple cider sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with another interesting beer from this house.

5th Annual MBG Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids. Murky brown body, thin buff head. Brown sugar aroma with tart apple notes. Caramely body with sweet brown sugar and modest tart apple. Sharply carbonated; long, tangy finish. More crust than apple. This was very good.

EBF, misleading name. Pours an orange amber body with an off white head. Sweet and fruity with rotten apples crab apples just plain bad apple tone. Modest warming with pears, apple esters and a mild caramel body. EH.

EBF 2010 Session One: Hazy deep amber pour with a tan film of head. Rotted old fruit aroma with papery oxidized notes and diacetyl. Light body with an old rotted apple flavor. Some mild cinnamon is there but the oxidation and butter are unpleasant. Eh.

Pouring at session one of EBF in Boston. Pours a murky brown with a thin white head. Degrading and decomposing caramel and old apples. Unpleasant, tart and rotting. Not so good.
