UPDATED: FEB 2, 2010 (Rating #5400) Growler… October ’09 O-Town Throwdown… Cloudy, dirty orange ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is a touch earthy, but mainly offers pumpkin and spice. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. The well-balanced flavor is lightly spicy. Crisp, mostly clean finish. Thanks to GoT and northernbrews for sharing the growler! Growler, courtesy GoT & Northernbrews. Pours a hazy, brownish-red amber hue. A small, frothy, ivory colored head leaves spotty, scattered lacing on the glass. The aroma shows a brown sugar and caramel malt base, with hints of graham
cracker and mildly spicy ginger. There’s not much pumpkin on the nose, but there is some. Flavors are similar, but seem kind of dull and undefined and muddled. The brown sugar malts seem to dull any underlying pumpkin flavors, and the graham and ginger just seem to run together. Light in body, it drinks easy but lacks in heft. I like that it’s not overly spiced, but it is otherwise pretty underwhelming. dchmela (3078) - Orlando, Florida, USA - OCT 19, 2009
Tasted at Otown Throwdown courtesy GOT. Orange amber pour. Huge pumpkin aroma, some cinnamon and spice. Thin light malt pumpkin taste. Kind of weak. SoLan (1550) - Florida, USA - OCT 18, 2009
Courtesy GoT. Muddy amber. White carbonation. Fall spice aroma and flavor, no clearly discernible pumpkin. Light body, balanced, easy. Meh. Tmoney99 (14764) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 18, 2009
Draft sample at The HopCat.
Poured clear dark orange rust color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid spicy pumpkin pie aroma. Moderate body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium pumpkin spicy sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
Solid seasonal beer.

Sampled from a growler thanks to northernbrews at the Metro Detroit October 09 tasting. Rusty colored pour with a little white head. Mild nutty aroma with a bit of baked pumpkin. More pumpkin and nuttiness in the flavor with some soft spice, toasted almond and a hint of amaretto. Aqueous body with moderate to soft carbonation. xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - OCT 14, 2009
On tap at the hop cat. Clear copper with creamy beige head. Dry pumpkin, some spice, rich malt, pretty standard. Flavor is sweeter pumpkin with light earthy malt, some spice, fruitiness, nice. Medium body with light carbonation. Overall a pretty standard pumpkin beer but slightly better than most. JaBier (8112) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - OCT 28, 2008
Growler courtesy of Rogueone. Pours a deep amber/light brown with no head. Aroma of strong clove with a fairly strong cinnamon and nutmeg presence. I want my pumpkin beers to be heavily spiced, and the aroma of this one does not disappoint. Flavor is strong clove and nutmeg up front, finished with cinnamon and just enough hop to add some balance. Solid pumpkin brew. UPDATED: OCT 27, 2008 OMG. Hope you like cloves! Talk about bouquet... this is packed with spices, so if you’re not into that you should probably skip this one. Crisp, and one of the lighter pumpkin beers, the complexity of spices here reminds me of spice cake. I can taste some molasses like flavor, cloves and nutmeg, and then it’s very strong cinnamon on the back end. It is a lot reminiscent of GLBC Christmas Ale, but with pumpkin. northernbrews (25) - Allen Park, Michigan, USA - OCT 22, 2008
Picked up a growler for Styles. Haven’t had this is a few years so lets see what I’ve been missing.
Pours a orangish brown w/ few finger khaki head. Slight lacing on my goblet.
Starts w/ some pumpkin pie spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and pumpkin. Little bit of malty sweetness too. Wish the aroma was a little more intense though.
It starts a little creamy w/ similar flavors as the nose, but just less pronounced. Not much in the after taste. You get the pumpkin and spice flavors in the beginning then it kind of fades to nothing.
Starts creamy on the palate and the flavors hang around for a little bit. There a slight warming feeling probably due to the spices.
Nice sessionable Pumpkin/Autumn ale. Wish the flavors were more pronounced.
