2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
I was surprised that this was listed as an IPA! More along the lines of an APA to me. lightest IPA ever.....but very good...APA/IPA hybrid maybe.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Organic pale ale apparently intended as an English style IPA, the original embodiment of the now omnipresent craft beer style so to speak, bottle from Plan B. Thickly ’paper’ lacing, egg-white, dense and moussy, medium thick, stable head over a hazy peach blonde beer with vaguely greenish tinge; turns into a murky ochre with yeast sediment added. Aroma of lemon-scented hand soap, lime juice, powder sugar, gooseberry, green banana, home made lemonade, daffodils, lemon candy, star fruit, bitter honey, cucumber, fresh green peppers, bread crust, white pepper, shampoo, sweet crémant wine. Vivid, fruity onset, lots of unripe, sourish gooseberry and dito peach, pineapple touch, sweetness remains very restrained and hidden in the background as a green banana-like presence; spritzy carbonation, minerally, somewhat coarsening the mouthfeel, which is otherwise light and supple. Cereally middle, bit grainy and almost pale lager-like in fact, but softened by a light caramelly ’roundness’; minerally carbonation and green fruit effects carry on well into the finish, meeting a green, fresh, grassy and floral hop bitterness there, drying, a tad resinous and wormwood-like in its deepest parts, releasing peppery and dried flower-ish aromas retronasally along with a scent of lemon zest. Quite refined thirst quencher, this one... I expected a golden ale but this is indeed hoppy enough to qualify as an IPA. As for that ’English’ aspect: New Zealand has some great and unique hop varieties, but I doubt if the lemony aspect which one of them appears to have produced here, would be fit for an old school English ale... There is still, however, a floral and plainly peppery hop pungency to this which is not that far removed from the more bitter representatives of English pale ales - but I am using some imagination here. Whatever the style: refreshing, elegant and pleasantly drying quencher.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle, thanks to FlandersNed. Sticker on the cap reads "3-12". Very cloudy golden orange color. Pours with a very big white head that just sort of stays put. Leaves plenty lace. Taste seems to have gone sour here. It’s tart, and moderate bitter. Medium body. Soft carbonation, with a very dry texture. If this is infected, it’s not terribly bad, here. Kind of works. Has a nice lemony citrus aroma. Light grassy hop. In the end, pretty decent stuff, especially after it’s had a chance to sit for a while. Much better than I expected for a 1.5 year old IPA, I’m thankful that it’s not just a caramel-malt bomb (don’t get any of that, in fact)

Cloudy gold beer, decent white head. This was a mild gusher, possible carrying a mild infection. Light palate, crisp and frothy. Creamy malt. Seltzer minerals. Sharp grapefruit bitterness. Finishes crisp. Refreshing but a little one dimensional.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from, Burg Bieren, Ermelo, Netherlands, consumed at home, Sunday 14th October 2012 Pours light gold, touch hazy. Dry, bitter but refreshing. I like the fact that this is not swamped in a sweetness, it really is quite decent. Nice softness in mouth, touch pithy with grapefruit showing. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6
