Dark amber pour, not much head. Aroma has caramel, figs, fruits, old hops, citrus, pine, orange.Taste has aged malts, caramel, figs, syrup, bitterness from the aged hops. At this point, it’s really barley wine-ish, and fairly nice at that. RasmusOtt (2933) - Aarhus, DENMARK - MAY 8, 2011
Aroma Pours caremelish brown with a tiny beige head. Aroma is oxidized, caramel, raisin, brown sugar, hops and toffee. Taste add some sirup, alcohol and barleywinish notes. BuckeyeBoy (8861) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 19, 2010
Bottle vintage 620 of 798 thanks to ditmier. Pours out cloudy amber topped with a tan head. Aroma was tons of floral hop notes along with sweet caramel and grapefruit peel. Taste more of the hops lots of floral and pine. This beer is had lots of hop bite for its age. ditmier (1508) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 16, 2010
2007 Bottle - Thanks hoppymeal!!! - Bottle620/798...Pours a hazy orange with a small beige head...aroma is massively floral hops, pithy grapefruit peel, pine pitch...flavour is similar, immediately bitter, almost caustic, citrus pith, grainy...odd sweetness that I would liken to table sugar, manages to finish malty and sweet...very interesting brew... Bomber from the brewery. Orange body with lots of white foam. Some hop and citrus aroma. Above average mouthfeel. Nicely drinkable, with fruit ameloriating the hop bite. Did not seem to be overly hoppy, but it is there

Bottle - thanks Ditmier. Amber with a thin beige head. Dry, floral, citrus, and (musty) malt aroma. Syrupy feel. Oddly hot for being sort of old, but a brash floral hop taste. Could have been the year of age on this... mickut (305) - Espoo, FINLAND - JAN 15, 2010
(Bottle at Pikkulintu) Hazy medium amber with short lasting head, bit of lacing. Aroma has hops, resin, caramel and alcohol. Developing mellow bitterness that starts a bit harsh. A bit off-balance. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 16, 2009
25.6 oz bottle, a few years old by now but i love me some Short’s. Murky brown with a spongy bone head. Nose is caramel, grilled orange and mild pine. Smooth medium body with buzzy carb, residual resin. Taste is orange peel, butterscotch, peach and grass. Doughy finish with some stale hops. Still good. sebletitje (10494) - Enghien, BELGIUM - AUG 16, 2009
courtesy of the Shorts tasting night group. early ’07 bottle.
pours orange cloudy with white head.
Aroma is just straight DIPA with hints of caramel malts. Even after 2+ years this one still retained a strong hop profile.
Flavor, caramel malts with a good hop balance, good carbonation with a light yeasty finish. Headbanger (4022) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUL 15, 2009
